The Adventures of Theseus is the third game in this series and in my opinion, is the cream of the crop! Match 3 games seem to be a hit or miss lately but this turned out to be a decent game with all kinds of interesting features to hold your interest, such as clearing a path for Delphi or dropping tools to collect resources that are used to build the Altar of Athens!

The Adventures of Theseus is the third game in this series and in my opinion, is the cream of the crop! Match 3 games seem to be a hit or miss lately but this turned out to be a decent game with all kinds of interesting features to hold your interest, such as clearing a path for Delphi or dropping tools to collect resources that are used to build the Altar of Athens!

There are 3 Modes of difficulty, Bronze/Easy with a 30-second hint/skip feature and no timer, Silver/Medium a 500-second Timed option with a 60-second hint/skip feature, and Gold/Hard a 300-second Timed option with no available hints/skips.

Each level goal requires making matches over all Gold Cells, and you must collect a specified amount of each resource shown at the top. Collecting resources is a two-part scenario. First, you drop the tools to the resource by making matches under them, such as a Sickle to harvest Wheat, a Pickax to collect Stone, or an Axe to chop Wood. (once the tool has dropped close enough to the resource, the tool icon can simply be dragged when it displays a downward arrow on the icon)

After using the tools, the resources are ready to be harvested/collected by making adjacent matches. The collected resources are then used to build the Altar of Athens...a much more realistic method than simply earning amulets to build a glittering "world" which is the typical MO from the developer who releases one cookie-cutter game after another here on BF...this is definitely a welcome change of pace!

Bombs appear on the board when you make large matches and can be swiped to detonate. Powerups eventually become available as you progress. You must first fill the powerup by collecting its designated icon with a single click.

-Athena's Blessing (Owls) destroys tiles/obstacles in a Snowflake formation.
-Herme's Blessing (Caduceus) destroys a 2-tile range.
-Poseidon's Blessing (Trident) destroys a row of tiles/obstacles.
-Apollo's Blessing (Lyre) destroys a column of tiles/obstacles
-Aphrodite's Blessing (Shell) destroys tiles/obstacles diagonally
-Dionysus Blessing (Leaves, Grapes?) destroys a 3-tile range
-Zeus's Blessing (Eagle) destroys all of the same kinds of icons.

Obstacles include Wood Crates, Stone Blocks, Chains, Conveyor Belts, Collections where you need to collect a specified number of a specified icon, and one of my favorites is Dead Items where you must clear a path to the meeting point and then destroy the remaining items that are covered in bones!

To break up the monotony, there are several mini-games or puzzles so clearly, this game has a ton of options and features to keep even seasoned Match 3 players happy!

I love difference in Match 3 games and this one does not let us down.
For a start this is a developer who cares and will listen to any comments in reviews. This makes a huge difference and usually results in games that we all love.

For a start this is a developer who cares and will listen to any comments in reviews. This makes a huge difference and usually results in games that we all love.

Despite having good reviews I struggled with the previous game Perseus as for me the tiles were far too small and I really struggled with it and the change to normal match 3 to chain did not suit me, but that is just personal taste.

This game is amazing and full of different features. I love where you need to clear paths for the gods etc and the feature where you can move a bomb anywhere on the board is great and much appreciated.

The graphics are much clearer and my demo time ran out so quick I just had to purchase.

The mini games are a delight and you can tell a lot of effort has gone in to this game to make it stand out in a very good way.
I am now on level 25 and they just get better and better. I only play relaxed so it will be interesting to hear other opinions on a timed level.

Try the demo and see what you think; but I for one am very happy with this game and I thank Pixquake for taking the time to bring us an excellent game. Keep up the good work Show less

3. Building materials to collect, and it's not just a matter of getting the tiles to the bottom of the page.
4. Walls, blocks, rocks that must be removed as usual... so far.

All the above can be found on just ONE BOARD!

And that's at the beginning of the game. Not telling how many challenges will be added to each board as we get further into the story.

If you love Match 3's you will like this one. The game play is so smooth. So easy to play and while items move when you match 3, it does not stop you from continuing to match. No pause. I love the graphics. Perfect for a Match 3. Love the puzzles in between. Really happy this came out today.
Played the previous one and loved it too.

I recommend this game!

This was probably the most enjoyment I've had with a Match 3 in a long time...it was interesting with a good storyline and many things to do...well thought out game and hope there are more like this type of game that makes you forget about the time and end up playing half the day...I won't go into specifics because there are many here who can give you them...I just had a blast with this game to ...Show more

This game is fabulous! The storyline of Theseus is great and the graphics are crisp. There are mini puzzles ranging from find the difference, colouring, jigsaw etc. Game took a couple of days to finish. Can't wait for the follow up.

I was hoping this game would be on par with The Adventures of Perseus. The boards are similar to that game, the match 3 process as well. The graphics aren't great, drab colors, items for building Athens are small, no choices of where to place them.

I like the story and the goal we have to reach and always enjoy this type of Match 3 game. I was having fun, enjoyed clearing the path for the characters on the boards. Then the first mini game arrived and stopped me cold. After many attempts to complete it I finally gave up and abandoned the demo, since I could not continue. The hint did not help and unless I was blinded from frustration, I saw no skip button.

The game is like The Adventures of Perseus and Cradle of Rome, so I know it should be fun and challenging. I've decided to check out other reviews at this point, because of the mini game. I felt so defeated! Hopefully, it will prove to be a great game and I can take advantage of today's sale! Show less

Sans être génial, ce match 3 permet de passer un bon moment les tuiles sont assez grosses et jolies et bien différenciées, la jouabilité est bonne.
Les mini jeux permettent d'éviter la monotonie.
Pour ceux qui aiment ce qu'on doit construire à côté du jeu, je comprends qu'ils soient déçus car l'image est très petite.
