This dev always uses great photos for their jigsaw puzzles... but this time around, we're taken on journey through Ukraine using swap puzzles.

The various regions are "unlocked" as you spend in-game currency; most games use "build a castle" or "construct buildings" or "decorate your garden"; here, we get to find out about culture and landmarks.

This dev always uses great photos for their jigsaw puzzles... but this time around, we're taken on journey through Ukraine using swap puzzles.

The various regions are "unlocked" as you spend in-game currency; most games use "build a castle" or "construct buildings" or "decorate your garden"; here, we get to find out about culture and landmarks.

In-game currency is earned by playing Match-3 levels, which have 3 levels of difficulty, depending on how hard you want to punish yourself. The tiles are clear, the items easy to differentiate while the entire game has a Ukranian theme.

Personally, I find this one to be their best Match-3 yet, and we get to see/learn about a country, through educational text and beautiful pictures that, before this, I knew little about .

I wish there was a photo album that gathered all the pictures, which could be revisited; instead, you can click on the various areas that have been unlocked.

I bought this because of the title but was very happy with this game. I didn't figure out the puzzle part until the second shot at playing. I love the pictures is the puzzle section and the match three is a lot of fun. Different then the usual match three so it was interesting. I really like this game and it presents some interesting concepts and challenges I haven't seen before in an M3 game.
BUT, like all other games I've checked from this developer, I won't buy it because it doesn't offer a true windowmode version of it. The "window" version offered is only slightly smaller than the full-screen version.
Sorry, I would have liked to acquire this game.

I don't recommend this game.

I've been trying to expand the kind of games I play, which is mostly story based/hidden object, so I saw Welcome to Ukraine and decided to give it a chance.

To be honest, when the game opened, I thought, Oh dear. I'm not going to like this. The opening screen and graphics were very primitive. But once into the game, I was pleasantly surprised! I enjoyed learning a little about Ukraine through puzzle pictures of things native to the country and a short narrative about what they were.

I do like match-3 and one plays them to earn points to buy tickets to open various areas on a map of the country.

It's a solid little game that is interesting as well as challenging. I would be play the demo first to be sure it's the game for you. I do recommend the game and was glad I gave it a try. Show less

It's difficult to envision what the country looked like when all we see are pictures of destruction and devastation. I can only imagine how difficult it must be for the Ukrainian people.

Alexander (Graphium Studios) gives us a glimpse into the beauty of his country in this Match 3 Game. I love the fun facts and the beautiful puzzles featuring various landmarks. Thank you for all you do, Alexander; stay safe, stay strong!

You can choose from 3 different difficulty modes, a Relaxed Mode with no obstacles, stop signs, or move limits. The Normal Mode has no move limits or stop signs but does include obstacles. The Hard Mode has Limited Moves, Stop Signs, and obstacles.

There are 24 Ukraine Destinations that can be unlocked with tickets earned playing the Match 3 levels. The goals for each level may vary; some levels require you to remove a specified amount of specific tiles, and others may require you to make matches on all cells with a symbol.

There are various Obstacles, such as Suitcases that hide symbols requiring an adjacent match, Barricades that require matches of whichever tile is barricaded, Metro Tokens, and Globes & Maps that require a specified number of adjacent matches. Stop Signs hide symbols as well but they will multiply with each turn if adjacent matches aren't made (only available on Hard Mode)

Boosters recharge as you make matches. The Hammer removes a single tile, Rockets destroys a 3 x 3 area, Swap allows you to swap positions of two tiles, and there is a Shuffle feature. Large matches of 4 or more tiles will add horizontal & vertical line busters to the board.

The graphics are a bit rough, but the game mechanics seem to work decent enough. I have no idea what the conditions are that this developer is dealing with, so I'm not going to complain because he is still trying to earn a living despite the situation!

This is a very childish game and probably youngsters or new to match 3 games would like it. Not for me.

The match 3 games were ... awful. When you earn enough money to purchase a ticket, there is a one-sentence description of that place. Then, all you do is a puzzle. Not even really a jigsaw puzzle just moving squares. smh

I would have liked MORE info about the 'destination'. I would have liked hidden object games, puzzles, other mini-games. I could have tolerated the horrible match 3 game if the 'prize' was getting to more fun and learning a lot about the Ukraine!

So disappointed. If this developer tries again, I hope they do a much better job.

Play the demo for yourself as this is just my opinion but it's a definite 'no' for me.
