I enjoy playing games by this developer it makes a change to play a mystery game based on Sherlock Holmes I don't find many detective games in this genre so this made a change for me

The game seemed overly simple at first, but it did get a little more difficult. After every hand you win you get a star, and with the star you are able to do 1 bit of detective work. That part is the most fun part of the game. The game seemed overly simple at first, but it did get a little more difficult. After every hand you win you get a star, and with the star you are able to do 1 bit of detective work. That part is the most fun part of the game. You also win money every hand with which you can buy an almost unlimited amount of jokers - which they don't tell you about, you just have to figure out that the gold card in the lower right corner is your joker. The game is short. I almost finished it during the demo. The face of the cards could be so much more pleasant to look at than what they created here. This is really a 3 1/2 for me. I recommend you try before you buy. Show less

I enjoyed the engaging detective story and the nice graphics, and the music was a pleasant touch. However, the gameplay itself was just okay—nothing particularly special or challenging. If you are into the story and atmosphere, it might be worth checking out, but if you are looking for something more complex, you might want to look elsewhere.

No way to lower volume, you have to turn it completely off. When a hand is out of moves, there are no pop ups telling you. You have to go to options to restart the game (weird). It's the higher/lower solitaire and you must use all cards to get a star. Stars are used to get hints in the detective part of the game. The dialogue cannot be skipped but you can hurry through it. When something needs to be investigated according to the dialogue, you don't actually get to check it out. No fun in that. Instead you play another hand of solitaire. On and on it goes, leading to nothing but continuous boring gameplay.

A Wild Card and Redo are ever present without wait time to reuse but you pay for each time. So be careful not to deplete your coin stash. The coins are collected as you play and they do add up quickly. A star is earned after each level, not sure of their purpose. The card obstacles are easy to overcome.

My demo didn't allow me to investigate the crime in any way. No mystery here other than why the game is set up this way. It was no fun at all. As it progressed new locations outside the mansion appeared but still no "hands-on" investigating. There's no challenge and the game is far too easy within the demo at least.

If looking for a time waster when you just want something to fill some of your free time without exerting much thought, this game will suffice. I have no clue where it will all lead. Maybe there's a big surprise much later but the demo was empty of fun and challenge with no indication of anything different ahead. Show less

Boring one-up-one-down solitaire - again . I enjoy Solitaire and thought it might have had potential to be interesting with the storyline, but no. Shame cause graphics and characters were OK.

The story part of the game is very short. You can continue to play hands, but why bother. The solitaire hands are repetitive and often require wild cards to complete, using coins. Coins add up because there's nothing else to use them for, except to redo. Artwork is nice, though. Basically, I'm sorry I paid for this.

I played a few hands and I admit I was attracted by the "investigation" mechanics that make the game more than a series of solitaire hands that doesn't seem to lead anywhere.

You earn coins, mostly when you make series as each card is worth 1 coin more than the previous, until you need to take a card from the draw pile... when it resets to 1 coin.

I voluntarily missed removing a card from the table to see what would happen; I can use an "undo" to reset my latest move, but once I emptied the draw pile, the level stopped... no "level ended" or "do you want to replay" prompt, or even a button.

I had to use the "Options" button to restart the level; because you only earn a star if you remove ALL cards from the table, I couldn't continue my investigation (each step requires spending 1 star, which you earn when completing the level without leaving ANY card on the table.)

I try every game on BFG, but because this one might cause me to get "stuck" at some point, it's a "no buy" for me.

Another "fail" is not having the ability to adjust the volume... it's either "on", or "off". Show less
