Big Fish Editor's Choice! This title was selected for its exceptional quality and overwhelmingly positive reviews from our Game Club beta testers.

GrandMA Studios invites you to return to the world of the ever-vigilant Master Detective once again in Mystery Case Files: A Crime in Reflection!

Just when you thought it was safe to take a vacation, the Crown calls you back into action! While burglary cases aren’t the Master Detective’s typical area of investigation, the police are stumped when a royal coronation scepter is stolen from one of the most secure museums in the world in the latest of a series of similar incidents, and they’re turning to you for help. The thieves have proven to be careless but crafty, somehow able to get in and out of the most secure locations in seconds and disappear into thin air! But what starts as a simple series of heists quickly spirals out of control when the criminals awaken something that will put them, the Master Detective, and even the world itself in grave danger! Can you unlock the bloody secrets the thieves discovered and save the day? There’s only one way to find out, Detective! Crack the case in this all-new Hidden-Object Puzzle Adventure!

This is a special Collector's Edition release full of exclusive extras you won’t find in the standard version.

The Collector’s Edition includes:

  • Visit the Mirror World to protect your brother from an evil entity who stole his memory!
  • Download unique, original concept art, wallpapers, soundtracks, and more!
  • Outwit your foes with the helpful strategy guide!
  • Collect all the Picture Fragments to finish the story, and gather Puzzle Pieces for a bonus Jigsaw Puzzle!
  • Play and re-play mini-games and HOPs to earn Achievements!

There are lots of spooky stories about mirrors. They do lend themselves to the creep factor. This is no different.
A witch is using mirrors to travel from place to place, doing her dirty deeds. I, of course, have to find and stop her.

This game takes you through a topsy-turvy nightmarish world of odd creatures and weird rooms. I loved the mini games, and finding the puzzle pieces. It was nice to have a guide to look at when one gets stuck instead of having to stop the game and go online for answers. I used to have to do that.
I bought two of these Mystery Case files games, (BOGO) and intend to buy more. Show less

I really enjoy the MCF games. They are my favorite. Of course, some are better than others, but I have played every single one. The story line was really interesting, but they are never long enough for me ;o)

I agree with the player before me. There is nothing like the original Ravenhearst series although the newer games come close. The problem with the older games is they haven't been updated to work on the newer computers! I have been away from PC games for awhile and was excited to get back to my MCF games only to find they haven't been updated!
Please Update the Ravenhearst and MCF games.

We have the now perennial question - is it MCF worthy? After the first five minutes we sadly conclude no, it isn't...but wait. We have the now perennial question - is it MCF worthy? After the first five minutes we sadly conclude no, it isn't...but wait. There are a couple of things, now a couple more, and all of a sudden it steps up the game again, and again. The overall pattern of the game is an indifferent beginning, a solid middle, and a roaring climax with a few teasers in it just for fun. Somebody put a lot of work into this one, it's really good.
Pros: You'd better pay attention because there are a few things just for longtime fans. Alas, no Queen to dispatch Master Detective on the latest adventure. Instead...oh, wait a minute, who is she? Better pay attention or you'll miss it. No clacky typewriter, darn it...oh, wait, it does turn up. Only once, chuckling at you. Excellent plot, plenty of play, not too much back-and-forth, and some mini-games that deserve their separate mention below. Beautiful graphics, very high production values throughout.
Cons: First, no dashboard hula doll. Got 'em there! No MCF theme (come on now, how hard can that be?) inside a really atmospheric musical mix. Early voice actors are atrocious with the customary complaints that Scots don't sound like Valley Girls...until that gets better and by mid-game they're excellent.
Mini-Games: No Rube Goldberg door locks, doggone it! Instead we have sequential puzzles that are actually the same thing in a different format, but they're still games nested within games. Some are really original, some classic, all pitched at just about the right level of difficulty to allow beginners to try but are really for more advanced players. A squares game I haven't seen since junior high school that really brought back the memories.
Bonus game: A prequel. Here we play as Carol, sister to a rather nice fellow who gets dragged into the mirror mess through no fault of his own. She/we have to drag him back and set up for the main game. More detail would only be spoilers.
Overall, five stars. There are enough references to past MCF games to keep the old fans amused if we can find them. After a slow beginning it builds to something head and shoulders above the rather tame fare we've subsisted on of late. Oh, one more thing - check the credits out. There are names there that have been attached to the MCF ride from the beginning. They deserve our thanks. Show less

Good game . Was going to give it a 4 star but it was a very good game. It was a little hard for me to understand what was going on, so I used the hint button more than other games. This is more about me than the game maybe as it was a little harder as I was not sure what to do. I didn't think it was a reason to down grade it.
Graphics and voice actors was very good .
It was a little short to me

It was a little short to me than the others in this series.
Bonus parts were good as most were easy to find except a couple of them. Bonus game was good but seemed random to me.
Little spookier than most games here lately but not to bad.

I am writing this review after playing the demo for only 17 minutes. I haven't done that in a very long time. I like the music, storyline, picture fragments not always easy to find. The initial HOS were interesting. One slight problem was some latency but I'm willing to overlook that. It could even be on my end for some reason.
I recommend this game!

Yes, I know, we'll never have "Madame Fate" as an all-new game again. I got over it, and enjoyed this new tale. It does seem a little peculiar that the Master Detective is fighting an urban legend (is Candyman next?), but, after all, the gang did steal the King's scepter, and Charles wants it back, I'm sure! Lots of scenes to explore--in fact, I wanted to explore them even more--many puzzles and HO scenes, and grim consequences in game for characters! Very nice. Now, if only Big Fish would get that darn original Dire Grove updated for playing--never played a "colder" game except that Phantom of the Opera game...which also should be updated! Show less

This game had everything for me! Visually pleasing, great storyline, challenging, and length of game play. Not to mention great music. This one reminded me of earlier installs. The master detective is, EVERYTHING! I really enjoyed this game. Loved the nod to Ravenhearst. Well done, GrandMa!
