Loved this game. Over 90% of the pictures were wonderful A few were too dark for me so hard to see. You can choose almost endless numbers of pieces, you can do edges and rotate or not. You can choose traditional puzzle piece shapes or a lot of other shapes to change things up. I am in love with Graphium Studio's jigsaws. The illustrations and the many options make their games delightful to play, and Beyond Stories: Merciless Winter has the bonus of a beautiful tale.

Choices include the number of puzzle pieces and the variety of piece shapes you can select from. For a fun, increased challenge, try the mosaic piece option.

I am in love with Graphium Studio's jigsaws. The illustrations and the many options make their games delightful to play, and Beyond Stories: Merciless Winter has the bonus of a beautiful tale.

Choices include the number of puzzle pieces and the variety of piece shapes you can select from. For a fun, increased challenge, try the mosaic piece option.

The music is in keeping with the gorgeous pictures and, for me, adds an unobtrusive but enjoyable background while playing.

In total, there are six beautiful winter-themed chapters of jigsaws that progress the story as you assemble them. There are cozy interiors, adorable animals, and realistic winter scenes, to name a few. Some are similar in nature but are not repetitions. The artwork reminds me of old-fashioned hand-drawn cards, and I will have hours of enjoyment piecing together these images. Show less

As ALWAYS with this dev, the pictures are just GORGEOUS. Due to the winter theme, some of the artists chosen seem to have multiple pictures taken from their portfolio of works.
I don't believe this dev would EVER re-use pictures, not even between games/releases: I think they're curated very carefully.

2 modes of play, and I especially like the "mosaic"/"stained glass" option as opposed to the more traditional "cut" pieces. In either mode, you have lots of choices for pictures and inspiration... winter scenes, northern lights, nature shots, etc.

It will take me a while to progress through the story; but that aspect of the game, to me, simply adds to its value and originality, in the same way as what Cold Coffee Studios did a few years ago with their quartet of "My Jigsaw Adventures" games.

I enjoy playing games by this developer and I enjoy playing seasonal games when they come through jigsaw games relax me when I play them because they aren't tense like a lot of games that I play

The images are all softly colored and very, very pretty. The animals and birds are really nice and the 4 mice in the first level are adorable. This type of art has always appealed to me and we don't see much of it in our puzzles.

Purchasing more puzzles doesn't make a lick of sense to me. I already own a huge amount, but they bring me so much pleasure. And this one will be a wonderful treat this Christmas Day, just for me, after the festivities have quieted down. It will still be enjoyed after the holidays.

This developer has always been consistent with beauty and quality in all their puzzles. If you haven't already done so, check them out and you'll find there's something for everyone. Beauty abounds! Show less

This is a follow-on to the series "My Hobby: Puzzles" with the addition of a story and an 8th classic puzzle cut. I did not have time to view the story during the demo, so it is not rated.

This is a follow-on to the series "My Hobby: Puzzles" with the addition of a story and an 8th classic puzzle cut. I did not have time to view the story during the demo, so it is not rated.

My problems with this game are as follows:

(1) does the gallery work? - previous games only allowed for the first nine competed puzzle pix to go into the gallery before the gallery stopped working (rest of the game continued to work fine)

(2) although the game boasts 150 pix in 5 chapters (there is a 6th chapter - another 30 pix? - that is hidden for the first hour of playtime), some of the pix are repeated between chapters.

I hope the developer fixes these issues, because other than the problems mentioned, I think that this is a worthwhile game to purchase and play.

Like my last review, if laziness and/or sloppiness were a grading criterion, the developer would have earned a star for that.

I will not make any recommendation as to this game - play the demo and compare the good and the bad in order to make your personal decision about buying. Show less
