Do Games presents the next episode of the nail-biting Maze of Realities series, Maze of Realities: Ride In the Sky!

You might be sorely mistaken if you think the universe is limited to the world's seven wonders! A simple trip to the Egyptian temple of Abu Gorab is enough to attest to that. No, we're not talking about the ancient sandy ruins, but about what archaeologists have unearthed at that remote location and what happened to them. People have begun to disappear from the excavation site, and clues about their whereabouts have been hard to come by. This job forces you to take an unexpected trip and find these poor souls wherever they are!

This is a special Collector's Edition release full of exclusive extras you won’t find in the standard version.

The Collector’s Edition includes:
  • Take on the role of an interdimensional medic in the exclusive bonus chapter!
  • Enjoy fantasy-themed bonus materials, and watch for additional collectible items!
  • Play intricate puzzles and relaxing mini-games to earn a variety of achievements!

I'm impressed. I wish there were more like this. Oh, wait. There are more like this. They are simply drowning in a pile of repetitive story lines of murder/mayhem/etc that is getting overdone.
Good job.

I have a MAC and this game ran fine for me. This is a challenging game with good graphics and an interesting storyline. I agree with Snake, some of the puzzles were just too hard and I had to set the skip button all the way down so i could get past them quickly. I like that I got my money's worth, I did not think ti was too long; I'm tired of paying money for games I can finish in a few hours.

A cracking variety of brain testing puzzles between HO games. in either mode there are very obscure objects to locate or puzzles to solve. Some too hard for me!

It has piqued my interest! According to the title and synopsis it should be awesome. The graphics in the beginning are stunning with the giant floating turtles and they remained beautiful throughout the entire demo. My trial time was visually very enjoyable. Characters were nicely rendered in appearance but voices weren't very good.
The demo ran hot and cold for me. I loved that the tasks weren't as daunting as usual and it included a couple of characters. Emma was helping in the search for Richard which led us through a vortex, meeting the king of an outer world. That was all good and seemed to be leading to some fun action and interesting sights.
I thought the HOPs were difficult because the list items had no resemblance to the items found. It required too many hints which is never fun for me. Also many items were VERY well concealed. That should be a good thing, I guess, but in this case it just slowed the progress to a snail's pace and was annoying. My patience only goes so far! The games were all enjoyable. I definitely preferred them over the HOPs, average challenge in both Easy and Hard Modes. Except for one, they were all new to me.
The collectibles came with the helpful pull-out tab. They weren't easy to recognize in addition to being very small and in dark areas. I hit on them purely by chance rather than actually seeing them. What to do next wasn't always clear but I didn't mind that kind of challenge. I can see where this might be labeled a very long game if all this keeps up!
My demo ended shortly after meeting the young king who was acquainted with Richard, claiming that Richard was working there but hasn't been around for a while. More mystery to uncover and the story seems promising at this point, but I'm always skeptical with Domini games. They usually don't follow through with the promised adventure. I most often find them over-run by tasks and little of the story surfaces which includes a very abrupt ending. That is why I quit buying Domini games in recent years.
I am quite interested in "Ride in the Sky", however. Egypt, other worlds, archeology, disappearing people, floating islands on giant turtles, beautiful graphics. It all seems like a great adventure is ahead. If this were eligible for a sale price I would pick up the CE this time. I'm unhappy with the new rule regarding prices/new releases like everyone else. Waiting to enjoy new/recent games is not fun, certainly isn't right, imo, and is it really paying off for the devs? Hopefully my interest in the game hasn't waivered by the time it is available on sale.
And, I'm left wondering, how is it that internet is available in "off-the-chart" locations, especially in the world of floating turtles? Ah, the marvels of technology!! Show less

REVIEW BASED UPON THE ENTIRE GAME
4 Chapters Plus a Bonus Chapter – Strategy Guide: 50 pages
Enjoy a long romp through an alternative universe as DO Games provides another beautifully illustrated addition to the Maze of Realities series. As an expert in locating missing persons, you are off to investigate the disappearance of a professor of technological sciences, Richard and his girlfriend, Lolita. Begin your journey in Egypt where you discover Richard and beloved, Lolita disappeared into a portal to another parallel world. Upon opening the portal, you and your colleague, Emma, find yourself in an alternate world with two kingdoms. One kingdom, the Vortex Realm, is situated upon a rock above a whirlpool. Its existence is in peril. The other kingdom, the Endermite Realm, consists of its residents living on the back of turtles. Locate Richard and Lolita while helping this alternate universe deal with a misguided leader who is stealing turtles for nefarious reasons.
A great deal of work went into the creation of this game. It is a great game for those who love science fiction and/or those who love challenging puzzles and HOP scenes. The graphics are incredibly beautiful. It took me several days to complete this game. It is a long game which was created from a mobile game series. In my opinion, this game is worth the price I paid for it. It has a good story line and is chock full of activities. I buy HOPA games mainly for the puzzles. This game is loaded with puzzles and while many are ones seen before in other games, this developer always provides some new twist in their design. It is becoming harder for me to justify spending the money I paid for this game for other developer’s games which are a third of the length of this game and with activities which lack the quality of this developer’s games. In my opinion, a game such as this one should cost more than the other mediocre HOPA games offered by BFG.
However, this game does have some negative elements. I do feel the game is too lengthy in some parts slows down to a “turtle’s pace.” Too many activities can make a game somewhat tedious and boring. Although I do love all the puzzles and HOP scenes, there are simply too many of them which tended to slow down the pace of the game. As I would like to see more and better puzzles in some developer’s games, this developer should cut out some of them to provide a faster paced game.
The format for the game is consistent as with this developer’s other games. There are three collectibles. Collect morphing herbalist plants and building models. Also collect jars of travel potions which can be exchanged to purchase items within a boudoir. I found some difficult to locate; however, most of the items I believe are easy to find. What I love about this developer’s games is that you can choose the difficulty of the mini-games providing for either a relaxed game or a more challenging one. Most of the mini-games can be played in either an easy or hard version.
From what I counted, there are thirty-six (36) HOP scenes and forty-four (44) mini-games. All the HOP scenes can be replayed upon completion of the game and twenty-four (24) of the mini-games can be replayed as well. There are a variety of HOP scenes. They are puzzle-like and some of them I found challenging. Some of the items were difficult to locate. The varieties include lists of items, silhouette, matching, rebus clues, cryptic clues, spot-the-differences, use of scene fragments, and replacing items within the scene in the proper location. There are some creatively designed HOP scenes. The same can be said of the mini-games. Almost all the mini-games can be played in either an easy or hard version.
BONUS CHAPTER. It is six months after leaving the alternative worlds. You receive a call from the new king of the Vortex Realm, King Gelai, asking for your help with locating the cause of the death of the turtles. You are off to these kingdoms through the portal in Egypt and your investigation will uncover a monstrous reason for the deaths. I found the story behind the chapter well-written. I felt this chapter had a faster pace than the main game. There are nine (9) HOP scenes and eleven (11) mini-games. This is a long chapter and I feel it was worthy addition to a collector’s edition of the game.
VERDICT: This is a great game for those who like a little more challenge in playing a HOPA game. It is a hybrid between a HOP game and a true adventure game. It is a long game and challenging. Even the HOP scenes can be challenging. I would not recommend this game for children nor for anyone who dislikes complicated games. It is a good but not great game. DO Games has some outstanding games but I do not feel this is one of them. It is definitely worth the price of game and to me, for as along as the game is and the number of activities, I feel it is a steal.
SPOILERS: HERE ARE JUST A FEW OF THE FORTY-FOUR (44) MINI-GAMES FROM THIS GAME:
A. Map puzzle. Travel through the air in a hot air balloon to a vortex while avoiding obstacles in your path.
B. E/H. Connection puzzle. Connect pairs of like weapons so lines do not intersect. The hard version has more pairs to connect.
C. E/H. Switch tokens so that a blooming cycle is created as per given hints. The easy version allows the player to have two extra areas to switch tokens whereas the hard version sees the player only switching tokens only between those next to each other.
D. Logic puzzle. Place 5 figurines into position according to a given note as to where each is to be placed.
E. E/H. Connection puzzle. Create a line of glue over each dot within a frame without retracing steps. The hard version has a more difficult path.
F. Sequence puzzle. Click on 16 squares on a 4 x 4 grid in the proper sequence to restore an image.
G. E/H. Fly a bird to a castle through fog. You will need to go back and forth and up and down and if you stop you may need to retrace your steps. Hard version has a more complicated pathway,
H. E/H. Mathematical puzzle. While creating a potion, turn valves containing numbers which add and subtract from the total until a “0” is formulated.
I. E/H. Place stones into empty spaces on a grid so there are no identical stones in any column nor row. The hard version has more columns and rows.
BONUS CHAPTER:
J. E/H. Checkers puzzle. Jump over wasps until only one remains. The hard version has a more complex grid than the easy one, which is triangular.
K. Connection puzzle. Place strings of colored chips into their like-colored areas on a grid
L. E/H. Map puzzle. Fly a bird across the water avoiding obstacles within your path. The easy version gives you 3 lives and the hard version, 1.

I thought the game held a great deal of promise but fell short of what it could have been. Show less

I have been with BF for more than 10 years. I love HOPA games and I do appreciate DO games.
Except this one has no music, almost no dialogue. It is one boring game, sorry to say.
They gave us only 60 minutes of play, probably afraid we would find 90 minutes too long.
As usual, try before you buy..
I don't recommend this game.
