I have to admit that I not a fan of the multi-coloured Griddlers. I like ones that are a challenge and can be figured out by logic. I see another review that says that one needs hints to complete, but I am almost finished and haven't used a hint yet. It is a challenge........ my favourite type of game.
I recommend this game!

This game is a great challenge for those who like picross or nonogram puzzles that require lots of thinking and logic to solve (vs. just easy fill-ins that are totally obvious). This game is a great challenge for those who like picross or nonogram puzzles that require lots of thinking and logic to solve (vs. just easy fill-ins that are totally obvious). I've had to use some hints, but I think that is because sometimes I just can't figure out where to click due to the fantastic complexity of the puzzles (not necessarily because the game is not using logic). I have enjoyed the challenge. Many other griddler games become so boring when I am just filling in lots of blocks that are totally obvious.
I gave it four stars for a few reasons: The pictures don't always look like actual pictures when solved (since I play for challenge, this is not that big of an issue); storyline is uninteresting; developers did not take into account trackpad users (for example, if using a trackpad on the Mac I have not found any way to escape out of a mis-click without actually filling in the spot...this results in unwanted errors which is my biggest complaint).
Overall - a nice challenge for those who want to spend time solving via logic. Show less

Everything was going great, I was thoroughly enjoying the Doodle God Griddlers when the unthinkable happened......I had to choose to either use a hint, or even worse, guess! If you've ever played a griddler game, the number one rule of thumb is, use logic to solve the puzzle, NEVER guess! To make matters even worse, this happened at the start of the puzzle, not towards the end, there was no possible starting point without using a hint (which I never use) and now I'm stuck with a game I don't want to finish.
Doodle God has been branching out lately, offering Hidden Object games Solitaire games, and now a Griddler Mosaic game. Doodle God made it's debut as an unusual game where you combine two elements to create a new element such as combining fire and earth to create a volcano. Most gamers didn't like that game because it tends to be boring for most people, but I found the game to be intriguing discovering which elements were created when I started thinking "outside of the Box" and it became harder and harder to to figure out how to make the required elements as I progressed. I was really excited that Doodle God was now offering a griddler game, one of my favorite genre's, because I thought it would offer unique qualities related to science. Even the BF synopsis of the game promises clever aphorisms (a concise statement of a scientific principle), which totally cinched the deal for me. So far in the game, there hasn't been anything different, much less scientific, the pictures aren't even science related so far.
The idea behind this type of puzzle is to either fill in or cross off square tiles in a grid of a specific size. There are numbers or groups of numbers located on each column and each row, which indicate how many cells must be filled in. Each group of numbers must be separated by at least one crossed off cell, left click to fill in a cell square or right click to cross off a cell. Each filled in cell contains a coin, and some of them contain bonus coins which can be used to buy extra hints, refill hints on the current level, or rights to make three mistakes instead of 2. You will earn three gold stars per level, and one star is deducted for each mistake made.
There are 7 Beginner tutorial levels, and one Expert level available to learn or brush up on your Griddler Mosaic skills. There are 6 Rooms in the Adventure mode which offer 20 griddler puzzles in each room, and there are Trophies to earn as well. You can replay any level as often as you want, to try to earn a better score. This game is no different than the vast majority of Griddler games offered with a single colored tile, everything is the same except for the music, which I found to be so annoying that I had to turn it off. I don't like griddler games that have puzzles I can't solve without using a hint, otherwise I would have given it a higher rating. Show less

I love griddler games. Don't care if I can tell what the finished image is. Don't care if I need to use a lot of hints. I have played many 8Floor games and can usually finish them. But this one requires so many hints that it is impossible! You have to "buy" hints so near the end of the game I have to play the easy first levels over and over to get enough coins to buy hints for the latter levels. This one is impossible though. I have 44 levels left and must play 10 easy games to get through ONE hard one. No, I am not playing over 400 games to finish this one. A similar game type is the Gizmo series. They are large and challenging but you don't have to buy hints. The hints gradually appear over time as you play and I have been able to finish them. 8Floor needs to look at something similar. I won't be finishing this game. Show less

Love this genre and play most and buy many, but not this one. This may have been one of the first griddlers to be designed. There is only one color. The shapes don't become a picture, they are just geometric shapes that are quite random. I played the whole demo to see if things got better but the only changes were that the griddlers got larger but not better.
I don't recommend this game.
