Have to admit I was pleasantly surprised after seeing some of the reviews. Numbers on the cards are BIG ( picked that under options ). Victorian style is really pretty and a nice change from most of my Hidden Object games. it is very relaxing to play and under the (easy) choice... it is just that! I liked this game it is the up and down type of solitaire which is my favorite. I played it on easy and got three roses on all the levels I played so far. I had to replay a couple levels until I got the hang of it but after that it was easier. I didn't listen to the music while I played so I can't review that. The game has a shop where you can buy different advantages like shuffle deck, show 20% ...Show more

I had to replay a couple levels until I got the hang of it but after that it was easier. I didn't listen to the music while I played so I can't review that. The game has a shop where you can buy different advantages like shuffle deck, show 20% of the cards etc., so if you buy a few of those it makes the game play a lot easier too. I had fun playing this game and intend to buy it. The only thing I didn't like was that after you collected the roses your hand was over. I like to finish the hand completely but that was the only negative for me. Still a buy for me. Show less

It's not easy to find a new Solitaire game these days, and while the play is the same old up-down, the cards are pretty, the "music" relaxing (if you turn the volume down), and overall, I'm enjoying it. I bought it after playing 12 levels in medium mode (why make it hard for yourself, it's supposed to be enjoyable), and am looking forward to getting back to it.

I recommend this game!

I do highly recommend that you try the demo first to see if the smaller card size will work for you. While doing this, also consider the background as the cards tend to blend in a bit too much in a few scenes.

This is a bare bones game. It is also very easy to pass the levels (rounds). I had just completed level 49 when the demo was up. Since there are only 120 levels, this game is not going to be a long game. 2 1/2 hours top total. These two reasons alone is why I will not be purchasing.

There is no story - at all. Nothing, nada, zilch. Just high/low solitaire rounds, with nothing in between (no HO, no silly "time-filler") (some players will appreciate this).

The music was pleasant enough. I had it fairly low so was able to hear it but tune it out at the same time.

There are 3 modes: easy, medium, and hard. I played on medium.

No annoying tutorial that keeps getting in the way of the first few rounds. They show you what everything means on one screen when you start and that is it. It does not tell you how to purchase power-ups and extra cards - I had to find that on my own just to see it, but never bought anything. They simply were not needed - even by level 49.

Another thing to consider, in some of the rounds, I did not have to clear the board to win the round. There are no "stars" per round - just win or lose. If you get enough roses (points) and whatever the extra item is, then you win, round over. You can forward directly to the next level without having to be brought back to the windows board (in other games, this would be the "map" that tracks your progress). Even this was bare bones as you couldn't tell what level you were on but know there are ten rounds per section. The level shows while playing the round though.

If you do have to redo a level, you only have to do that round and not the entire section (there are 10 levels in each section).

There really isn't much more to say about this game. Nothing exciting but it was very relaxing to play and the time flew by. Unfortunately, there is nothing about this game that would justify me spending money on it (nor even use a coupon). It is not a bad game, just one too many things I am not thrilled with. I think some players may like it enough to do so though.

I love playing golf style solitaire if they are done well. This one wasn't. The game play was lame with no real purpose or challenge. I played 15 minutes before becoming bored and opting out. Might have become more of a challenge deeper into the game but I wasn't going to waste my time finding out.
Graphics were poor at best and the colors were dull and washed out.

It is a very strange game in that you actually have to try not to win quickly. If you win to quickly you will not get enough roses. So it is odd but a bit of a challenge, Certainly not for everyone. It was a thumbs down for me.

I'm usually not this critical of games offered by Big Fish, however, this game just isn't any fun. You can choose from 5 different Victorian themed card backs, and two different face card styles. None of these matter because the cards are way to small in the first place. You can also choose from three difficulty modes, Easy, Medium or Hard. I chose Medium at first, and had to play the very first level over and over again because I failed to meet the level requirements. I simply couldn't make any plays with the cards I received so I went back and created a different profile to switch to the Easy mode. (you can't just switch the difficulty setting on an existing profile) Surely this would get me through the first level, but nooo, I was lucky to make a chain of 3 cards in this mode! I finally made it through the first level, the second level took me two tries and I gave up when I only received two roses out of three, on the third level. What's the point? I understand that the levels will progress in just about any Solitaire game, becoming a little more difficult, but if you can't get through the first few levels, why bother with the rest of them? This is a Higher/Lower type solitaire game, which is really my favorite type, but I hate the type that require you to remove all of the "special" cards to beat the level, even with regular cards remaining. I hate this feature, I want to play until I get a perfect score by removing ALL cards, not just special cards. Try the demo on this game first, you'll probably agree with me that the cards are way to small and the level of challenge is way to hard because you can't seem to get any playable cards, I can only imagine what the Expert level is like!. Even though I chose the easiest option, I like a relaxed game, I tried twice and couldn't even get through the first game. The cards are very unattractive, and it's hard to even know what the numbers and letters are. The background artwork is less than inspiring. There are plenty of higher/lower solitaire games out there that are done much better than this. Save your money for something better.

The cards themselves were also too small.
This made game play very hard to see.
