This is the 3rd installment of Madhead's series Dawn Of Hope. The Frozen Soul is a Sci-Fi action game which utilizes certain aspects of previous editions to create a new and unique post apocalyptic adventure! Your journey begins in the Sprite village, home to both humans and elves living together in harmony. You play the role of Tara, a brave survivor of a ruined world and apprentice to Mr. Hett; a teacher and elder of the Sprite community. Hett tells Tara the fascinating historical story of an organization called "The Society". Agents of the Society rule from the skies with their supernatural ability to control lightning and use it to reek havoc on the citizens of Sprite, a tactic used centuries ago in ancient times which caused the apocalypse. During those ancient times The Elves of old arrived in a beam of light and used their fae spells to restore life to the land. Trees re-grew and rivers flowed once again. The Agents of Society came and used their power and technology of the ancients to defeat the Elven leaders. They locked away all traces of the Elves of old in Mount Nucleus. Tara must now make her way with her Elven friend Lennart to Mount Nucleus for help. With some assistance from Lennart using his elven healing powers and a device that has the ability to melt and freeze inventory items your ready for the quest... or are you? When both of you arrive at Mount Nucleus you encounter a sinister Elven Queen. Her name is Alyssandra and she is out for VENGENCE! Fate ultimately lies in the hands of Tara and Lennart but the help they seek at Mount Nucleus will be a dexterous task with the discovery of Alyssandra...
I have always loved this series and this edition has a multitude of arduous tasks to offer. The story is engaging, the graphics and special effects are beautifully executed and it is definitely a rather lengthy HOPA. It took me over 5 hours to complete this excellent adventure. I remember playing Dawn of Hope: Daughter of Thunder where one of the main character's special abilities was using electricity to control lightning! I thought this edition was just as electrifying. Cheers!
I also recommend the previous installments:
•Dawn of Hope: Daughter of Thunder
•Dawn of Hope: Skyline Adventure

Action packed game just like the first two. You have people from the first two games in this game which I Loved. It had some funny moments with Lennart a elf and your best friend.
5 Chapters with 21 hops. I liked the second one Daughter of Thunder the best and then this one and then Skyline Adventure.
I recommend this game!

I'll admit that I skipped a couple of mini games, but I played most of them. They weren't all so easy that a small child could do them. I really enjoyed the mine sweeper one, and I hope Mad Head includes more of these in future games.
Also, I happened to enjoy the heating/cooling gadget. It was a small match three game where none could be left over on the board, and it progressed in difficulty with each use. I had to restart a couple of them, but that just made the game more satisfying for me.
If I could think of anything negative to say, and it's not really that negative, is: What happened to the dwarves? I liked the drawf from the first game, but he only had a small part in the first story, so he wasn't integral in either game, but I still liked him.
If you're a Mad Head fan like I am, then you'll really enjoy this game. A lot of loving attention went into this one, and the length was satisfying too, but I'll always hope for longer when the game is good. I should have gotten the CE. I'll admit that Dawn of Hope: Frozen Soul is even better than the first game. Show less

This is the world we live in now, a nuclear post-apocalyptic world void of technology. The buildings and even the towering skyscrapers of yesteryear are slowly crumbling into ruins. The automobiles and the roads they traveled are being consumed by nature itself, and Nature itself had a death sentence. Everyone knows the story of the day the earth was healed when the Elves appeared from the skies, but not everyone knows the truth...until now that is...
Unfortunately, we have yet another gadget! For the life of me, I don't understand why they are included!? I wouldn't mind having a new device such as a phone or tablet, anything realistic, but a gadget that heats or freezes anything? Not to mention the fact that it works on 2 AA batteries, think about it. Not only are 2 small batteries capable of toasting or freezing any material, but how old are these batteries? This is a post-apocalyptic scenario and it has been that way for generations, surely those batteries have no juice left??? I know, I know, it's only HOPA world,
The Hidden Object Scenes are a bit scarce compared to the number of Mini-Games (my personal preference) but I will say that the scenes are located in interesting locations or have interesting features, especially some of the Keyword finds. Most of them are Listed Item Finds, but there are also Interactions, Fragments to Uncover, Silhouetted Shape Finds, Colorless & Colored Picture Finds and several smaller Zoom Zone HOP's where you are tasked with finding 5-6 Items. Each of the 27 main HO scenes has a Morphing Object to find in the CE version, which I'm more than okay with now that MHG has started to include them in each of the locations as well. In the past, Mad Head has stated in the now abolished forums, that they do indeed read every review and try to incorporate the wants and needs of their customers, so let me just say thanks Mad Head for listening and an even bigger thanks for including Morphs in both the HOP's & each scene (CE versions of course)
The Mini-Games are good but fairly easy to solve. I was able to solve most of them on the first attempt, even the ones offered after the demo. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo, and a few afterward:
1) Place wires on the jacks to turn all lights green.
2) Find and place misplaced items in a book.
3) Adjust sliders until all 3 lightning bolts are centered.
4) Gadget: Remove all squares by clicking groups of identical tiles. (progressive ea. time)
5) Replay the sequence of numbers s demonstrated.
6) Rotate train track sections to create a path to the end x3.
7) Swap colored pipes correctly by following tangled wires.
8) Swap triangle shaped pieces to create the image on a clue.
9) Move figurine to blast door, each section moves w/ figurine.
10) Use rotation buttons to move gems to colored slots.
11) Tap cracks in the same sequence as shown.
12) Choose Lock pins in the correct order by trial and error.
13) Use directional arrows to avoid obstacles in your path.
14) Click to stops each ball when it enters the target zone.
15) Move various sized blocks to allow the key block access.
16) Place torn picture fragments onto highlighted spaces.
17) Repeat the sequence of symbols on bricks correctly.
18) Set the right amount of Gunpowder & Angle & then shoot.
19) Detect iron objects using the Orb device.
20) Place various sized gears correctly.
The Collector's Edition version has 4 Wallpapers, 6 Concept Art pictures (with before/after slider bar) 10 Music Soundtracks, 12 Character Gallery pictures, 11 Achievements to earn (most with 3 categories) replayable Mine Games (gadget mini-game) 21 re-playable Hidden Object Scenes, 21 HOS Morphing Objects, 27 Morphing Objects (1 in each location) 27 Hidden Snowflakes, 5 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter and a built-in Strategy Guide, enjoy!

Although I did like the hidden object parts of the game and some of the mini-games, I was getting tired of freezing and heating objects in the container -- this for me went on too long.
Always try first to see if you like the game.

I truly don't care for contraptions that you have to use over & over again. They're not all terrible. But if you didn't like the puzzle that went with it the first time you won't like it the next 15 times either. It can make or break a game for me. I did appreciate some of the mini-games that made me think, but there weren't enough of them that challenged me. Just an ok game for me. Beginners ...Show more
