Rescue Team 8 is a game that I have had so much fun playing! I am by no means an expert with TM games but several of the games in the genre have become the ones I immediately grab up when they appear, and Rescue Team is at the top of my list.

Rescue Team 8 is a game that I have had so much fun playing! I am by no means an expert with TM games but several of the games in the genre have become the ones I immediately grab up when they appear, and Rescue Team is at the top of my list.

In Rescue Team 8 Pietro Mangula, a famous poacher, has stolen all of the animals and destroyed the reserve. Now you and your Rescue Team friends must go to work to save the animals, rescue people, and rebuild the reserve. Wow, even I could play this game and have had so much fun this morning doing it that it will be hard to pull myself away for those real-life tasks that need to be done.

If you are new to the TM genre and want a game that can be played in a relaxed mode as you learn how to play, then Rescue Team 8 is a game I think will fit the bill as you find out how much fun a TM game can be. Every time a new Rescue Team game is released I am right on it and know it is a game that will be a lot of fun. Not only will you need to rescue and restore as you play, you will also need to figure out the best strategy for accomplishing your goals. Although I play the game in the relaxed mode the first time through, the next time I am a bit braver and will select a different option for playing the game but no matter which option I select, I still have fun playing without the stress that I find in some TM games.

Rescue Team 8 is an excellent game and one I love but, as always, please try the demo to see if you will enjoy. Happy gaming! Show less

I wasn't in a hurry to try out this game as it is the eighth in a series and I didn't expect much new and interesting content. However, I was pleasantly surprised.

Rescue Team 8 keeps its entertaining formula, so that the game is easily playable without an introduction and with the hints turned off (I'm always pleased when this option is available). It is still possible to click ahead - another impotant option for me. So, basically, not too much has changed, but they managed to bring in some nice new twists. As in earlier games, animals have to be rescued in some levels, but this time the requirements for this a bit different, which I liked.

Also some levels take place in a cave where one has to power generators to show the next part of the cave system. Another nice new addition.

The pace was good, the one-hour-demo flew by and I thought the challenge was enjoyable. First levels were a bit slower, naturally, but not too slow for first levels. The challenge picks up nicely, it's not too difficult, but there were moments when I had to think a bit about what to do next.

I felt thoroughly entertained and will definitely purchase this game. Show less

I purchased this from a different site as I couldn't wait to play it. I love this game! Challenging without being impossible, the speed is good but my favorite part is not having to work out of two bases at once!

I recommend this game!

I played in the Multi-click mode, and I had to play several levels a second time to earn all three stars, and I consider myself to be pretty good at Time Management games, so I guess the only way to find out if the game is challenging enough for you, is to give it a try before you buy.

The Blooming Forest is a beautiful sanctuary reserve, famous for its rare collection of Flora and Fauna. Tourists and Journalist have arrived from all over the world to attend the opening ceremony, but not everyone has good intentions. That low-life poacher Pietro Mangula and his band of merry thieves have joined the celebration! Their devious plan is to create chaos throughout the reserve and slip out undetected with their cargo of wildlife. There's just one problem...They weren't counting on the fact that Rescue Team was attending the ceremony! I'm on my way!

There's a difficulty mode available for everyone including a Relaxed mode with no Time constraints, as well as a Normal mode that only allows you to assign available workers, and a Multi-click mode which allows you to queue tasks for workers to complete once they become available. There are 27 Achievements to earn, 50 Main Levels and 20 Bonus Levels available in the Collector's Edition version which also has a built-in Strategy Guide. The Strategy Guide is actually quite useful because this is definitely a Strategy-based Time Management game!

If you haven't played any of the previous 7 Rescue Team games before, you're in for a treat because unlike most TM games, Rescue Team is all about rescuing people after Natural and Man-made catastrophes. The people may be trapped simply because the roads are destroyed or blocked by fallen debris, others may be trapped under collapsed buildings, and those jobs call for specialists Larry and Barry who are the Rescue Team's adorable, but hard-working Saint Bernards.

Eventually, the Team will rescue people using boats, ski lifts, ATV's etc. requiring unusual TM equipment like Generators, Pumps, Lighting sources and even Cranes. Naturally, all that equipment uses a ton of fuel, so you need a constant supply of fuel as well as Food sources and Lumber sources. Hospitals, Veterinarian offices, Pet Shops, and Housing need to be built or repaired before Medics, Doctor's or Veterinarians can treat the victims. Because this is a strategy-based game, it may take a replay or two, to determine which tasks and which buildings are more important and in which order they should be queued.

There are still the usual tasks available in most TM games, to collect resources such as food, money and wood, clear roadways of debris, fix potholes, repair bridges and damaged buildings, and strategically construct and upgrade Sawmills, Cafe's, Houses, Pet Shops to feed Barry and Larry, and Gas Stations that will produce the required resources.

If you earn 3 Stars on a level, you will receive coins that can be used in the Shop to purchase Bonuses. There are also Bonus chips on some of the levels that will make the rescue workers run faster, or produce gas, food, wood etc. faster, but for a brief period of time, so you'll want to decide when to collect a chip to give you the most benefits and at the right time.

You can purchase items in the Shop to help you achieve the level goals. These are available in 5 different Categories, Tools which speed up the rescue team workers, speeds up construction or road repair work. Medical supplies help victims remain warm or prevent diseases from spreading, and to keep fires from spreading. Emergency items speed up machines such as water pumps, and makes medics treat patients faster, and also speed up Larry & Barry when they search rubble for victims. in the Vehicle category, planes deliver freight faster and make the Crane and water pumps work faster too.

The Collector's Edition version has 27 Achievements to earn, 12 Music Soundtracks, 10 Character Pictures with Bios, 9 Concept Art pictures, 50 Main Levels +20 Bonus Levels and a Built-in Strategy Guide. What are you waiting for? Start rescuing, team 11!

This is very similar but not really like the previous four.

Try the demo, it still is fun and really good, just to me it is not the usual for this crew and I will not be auto-buying from them in future, though I do not regret the buy. Just let down a bit. Show less

I bought the CE version without playing the demo because I love this series so much, and boy, did I regret it! This version seems like a cheap knockoff. I would genuinely surprised if the same people developed this version as the previous versions. The text looks like it's been written by someone with English as a second language, which I don't remember being an issue in previous versions.

But the main problem of the game is that for experienced TM gamers, there is ZERO CHALLENGE. I got through the entire game with all 3 stars, never replaying a level, never even buying any of the bonus items! In previous versions, there would have been levels that you couldn't get through with any stars without those bonus items!
There seemed to be no strategy required at all for this versions. Just click stuff in order until you're done. SO disappointed in this game. Show less

I am a HUGE fan of TM games, but this one.....not so much. It's not much different than the first ones....I have all of those too and don't play them much. WHY on earth can't the developers make there characters run faster? Yes you can buy boots and such in the store to make them faster, but that doesn't help much. Also, I would like to make my own decisions as to what to build and when....what to choose and when....etc. In this game, you can't go any further unless you do what THEY decided you build next, pick up next and so on in some cases.

I just don't like it when a game is so slow. I feel like I spend SO much time waiting for the guys to get someplace and it's frustrating. I won't be buying this one OR the CE version....it was just as slow. Show less
