I think we all have to accept that the last 2 games are not like the earlier games and seems to be the way this series will go now.
So what we need to do is to judge it on the actual game play and not what the previous games were like.

Yes I miss the trains but find this very challenging and it soon gets interesting fighting off the walrus invasion whom very quickly can take over.

So judge this game on its own merits and not what the earlier games were like Show less

This game is good if you want a relaxed fun match 3 game. I thought the graphics were great and very colorful. Yes there is some dialog but it doesn't last that long compared to some games. I would recommend. Personally I thought the "Kindergarten" comment was a bit harsh.

I almost didn't get this game, because of some mediocre reviews: but I found the game to be very fun, with just the right amount of challenge...I am not a big gamer: I play easier types of games...But I liked this game allot..It's my "go to" game now, when I am bored :-)

I see some negative reviews but I have no complaints. It is very much like Imperial Island 4 except this time you are building a ski resort. I enjoyed the demo so much that I purchased the game. The only complaint I have is that you can't create a profile. I have to reset my results in order to play it again.

I recommend this game!

I must have changed my star rating on this game twenty times even down to 2 stars before I settled on 'liking' it. It seems to be a FTP conversion where on other platforms other than BFG you would probably pay real money at times.

The graphics are just lovely, vibrant and full of colour both on the build screen and the tiles. The game has three modes, relax, timed and limited moves. I began on 'timed' and boy was it tough! The good thing is if you cant pay your way out of a level to progress after failing ...you can toggle to relax and repeat it to move on and not get totally frustrated. I found timed too stressful but didn't have much more success with limited moves although my stress levels abated lol.

Some of the FTP features did help me at times. When I didn't have enough money ..guess what..up popped the casino to which I have never lost a spin lol...to help me finish..but sometimes even with that it was not enough.

The 'bonus' helpers like a hammer a bomb or lightening are not always just 'there to explode'..you must match them with a tile of the same colour to make them work (not lightening)..but large matches will get them on the board. At one stage a herd of walruses popped up and they then continue to appear on the board like vines creep and cover tiles..and you cant turn them off. By the time you have half your board covered in walruses and unmatchable bonuses..at least you can grab one of your hammers..(which you pay for) and actually set the bonus explosions off!

So its a complicated game, a delight to watch, as you build your resort. I counted 42 buildings or resort features to do, and there are acheivements and earnings as you complete them and play the boards. They range from whole amusement parks, hotels, bistro's, shops, weather stations and many more.

Its not the old Imperial Island we used to love with its great strategy. There is no level map..and you just keep repeating till you give in, and really are at the mercy of the tiles a lot of the times I am enjoying giving myself a hard time and trying to reach my goals in both timed and limited moves..so I guess I am getting value there, and the colourful graphics make me smile. This could be any game of the new gen match 3 world..not really Imperial Island we know.

You must try the demo on this, and do the tutorial or you will not understand what's required. I will actually get it with a coupon because I do have that choice of how much and how long I wish to play a level before giving into relax and moving on. Cheers Show less

I just happen to be replaying Imperial Island 3 (love it!) and have to say I prefer that one by far. In this game, you aren't building an empire; you're building "the biggest, most spectacular" ski resort. That in itself is a disappointment for me. Overall, I find this one too feminine/girlie (and I'm not a guy!). The music is soothing, bland, pleasant.

The game board/icons are quite a bit larger than in #3 (I seem to have missed #4 or maybe I didn't like it enough to buy) and are crisp and clear. I experienced no technical issues and found gameplay very smooth and there's no waiting while pieces finish exploding/dropping off before you can make another match -- you can match as fast as you want to.
The usual choices for an M3 of relaxed, timed or limited moves and I played the demo in relaxed mode. I still found there was a nice level of challenge though. Early on, large seals are introduced to block your way and they multiply so you must destroy at least some of them by making a match (like the octopuses in #3 but seem not as deadly). In level 11, boulders are also introduced close to the top of the board to further block your progress and it took me longer to complete that level since there were also a number of large seals at the bottom of the board which I didn't notice at the beginning. Sometimes you have to choose your next move carefully to stay 'alive'.
Bonuses made with matches of 4 or 5, the bombs and 'arrows', appear only in the same colour as the match you made to create them; thus they only work when you match them with the same colour icons.
Overall, this one is not as 'exciting' for me as #3 and I did deduct a star for the 'too girlie' aspect (which I could also describe instead as visually geared toward children) and my lack of enthusiasm. That's a personal preference. But if you like, or at least don't mind, that kind of thing, then I highly recommend this game for you. Show less

So the developers decided they wanted to frustrate us, unlike the other two games. I play games for enjoyment, not to test any skills they decide I should have...just a relaxing game. This ISN'T it! Frustrating, repetitive. Thanks but no thanks.
