I fell in love with the first Art By Numbers game because it was a classier version of the Paint by Numbers game with much better graphics and way better options. I didn't think they could up the ante on such an amazing game because the first game had so many options already, but they proved me wrong with the coolest feature ever...they added a Freeplay section that allows me to choose my own ...Show more

I fell in love with the first Art By Numbers game because it was a classier version of the Paint by Numbers game with much better graphics and way better options. I didn't think they could up the ante on such an amazing game because the first game had so many options already, but they proved me wrong with the coolest feature ever...they added a Freeplay section that allows me to choose my own colors from a complete, full-scale color palette! I couldn't wait to complete a picture so I could unlock the Freeplay image and use my imagination to create a wild and colorful pennmom version!

The cursor is an actual Paintbrush, which was an option available in the original version, but this time they have added an option to "paint" the sections normally, or as an actual brushstroke that fills sections in as if you were actually using a real paintbrush! You can choose from 4 different Background Textures that will compliment your completed works of art (72 total) You can also choose the color shading of the numbered areas, and the type of painting style, either Flat or a textured Watercolored effect that looks more like a real paint by numbers painting effect.

The Current Number is much easier to see than in the "other" painting game and the black lines are much smaller so the pictures are much crisper and are really interesting. They have a transparent background (unlike the other painting game which has an ugly gray background) because this picture will be displayed on the background you have chosen, and it will be embossed with a blue & gold frame when completed.

The colors are beautiful with carefully chosen hues of yellows, purples, pinks, fuchsias, teals, oranges, etc. A butterfly might have 5 different variations or shades of pink on his wings which is something I have complained about several times on the other painting game. It's not very pretty when the same blue color is used on an entire butterfly that is just separated by really thick black lines, you have to use shading variations to give it depth, and that is exactly what Awigor has done...the same developer that developed Rainbow Mosaics, one of my favorite Mosaics series!

I went straight to the buy button, downloaded, opened, colored the first image, and picked my jaw up from the ground.

Oh my goodness. The colored areas have 3D texture, the colors are jewel-like, and as penmom pointed out, you can choose your own colors and shades by changing the setting to free mode.

You can also change the brush from wide stroke to point.

The drawings are beautifully rendered and the colors are so vibrant. In addition, the switch from one color to another is dynamic - you don't need to select the next color, it just flows to your brush. I've done many paint by numbers; this is truly the best. More like this please!!

I love relaxing with these paint by number games. They aren't very challenging, but they are something fun to do while watching tv. But this game - what gorgeous colors! I can't stop looking at how beautiful my pictures become with a swipe of my finger! Lovely, lovely, lovely.

I own many but I'm never satisfied with the features, not to mention the poor quality and small size of the finished images. I've been wishing for some quality changes to occur and it has finally happened!

I made a mad dash for the Buy Button after the demo and I'm very pleased, so far, as I continue with the game. The other devs in this genre should follow the lead and get busy sprucing up their games in response to our requests. Awigor has created some stiff competition, IMO, and hopefully they will be here for a long, long time with Art By Numbers and other paint by number games.

I'm mentioning a few things here that I really love, beginning with the Freeplay section. What a fun time painting with your own color choices, choosing from a full-scale color palette to unharness your imagination. Art By Numbers 2 gives us 72 images and no black, ugly lines chopping them up. The paintbrush cursor works in the regular way or use it like a real brush, movement is not "sticky" like in many of these art games. Choose a flat or textured finish for your artwork, I love the textured for a little extra flair but I like to use both. You can pick the shading for the colored areas, which I appreciate. The finished image is framed in a blue and gold embossed frame, a nice touch that I really like. The wide array of colors brings life to our "canvas" with beautiful shading and nice detail. The added depth makes the image so much nicer and makes painting more of a rewarding experience.

Give the demo a try. The game is fun and relaxing, a nice break from the busier games. All skill levels can enjoy with ease, kids can paint without the mess, and I think it is great for learning about color value. Show less

I loved the little brush and felt like I was really painting. I still have my same complaints about all the "by numbers" games. First the the black lines outlining everything. I love this game! An even though I have played all of them (for free) on another game site, I have used game point on Big Fish to by Art 1 and now Art 2. I hope the get the rest of them here too! Same developer as Paint by Numbers, but this one is more colorful, more features and more Fun! You can play as is or customize.
