I love that they are finally offering pictures that cover the whole scene versus the small images slapped in the middle of the scene. This is a painting game and it only makes sense to give us pictures that cover 100% of the scene although they have included more like this, the majority of the images are smaller circular images in the center of the scene and they don't include coloring the outer parts or the background. :) There are also several uninteresting pictures that most people could care less about (including the dreadful Helper Robot) if you took a poll, I'm certain everyone would rather have images like the beautiful fox in a field versus a popsicle with a few scant designs to color...or the ugly robot!
I also love that I can choose ANY of the images right from the start, unlike the "other" painting series. When a painting game shows me the number of cells available for each color, I'm even more impressed! When a painting game has incredible colors, interesting images, tons of options, and saves my progress mid-stream...I'm impressed enough to purchase the game and give it a 5-star rating, having a Freeplay section is icing on the cake! The Freeplay section is by far one of the best features offered in a coloring game. This feature allows you to choose your own colors from a complete, full-scale color palette so you can be as creative as you want to be. My second favorite feature is that each color tells you how many cells you'll need to fill in and it keeps track of the ones you've filled in so you know exactly how many remain unfilled.
The cursor is an actual Paintbrush and they also have a Wide Brush option that mimics the real McCoy, as if you were filling in areas a little at a time. You can choose from 4 different Background Textures that will compliment your completed works of art (72 total) You can also choose the color of shading for the numbered areas.
The Current Number is much easier to see than in the "other" painting game and the black lines are much smaller so the pictures are much crisper. The difference between the two painting series games is like day versus night, this game is quality through and through and the "other" one seems outdated and old-school!
The colors are beautiful with carefully chosen hues of yellows, purples, pinks, fuchsias, teals, oranges, etc. whereas the "other" painting series has unappealing colors with a ton of brown and black variations, their colors just don't pop like the ones offered in Art By Numbers games! A butterfly might have 5 different variations or shades of pink on its wings which is something I have complained about several times on the "other" painting game. It's not very pretty when the same blue color is used on an entire butterfly and simply separated by really thick black lines in an attempt to make it look more dimensional. Every artist knows that you have to use shading variations to give a painting depth, and that is exactly what Awigor has done. This game was created by the same developer who brings us Rainbow Mosaics, so they are masters of color, in my opinion!

There's always something interesting going on at my new forum! If you miss chatting with fellow fishies from the Big Fish Forum days then grab a thermos full of coffee, throw on your favorite jeans & t-shirt, and lace up your hiking boots...ah who are we kidding...just keep your comfy fuzzy slippers on, and come chillax with us by the fire at thewoodsforum.boards.net

This is a favorite in my art collection, along with our most recent game which also includes pixel painting. I would love having more than 72 levels though, because the minimal challenge makes it so easy to quickly finish the paintings.
In spite of the quality here, I don't care for the images as much as in Number 10. There are a bunch of cutesy pics, not enough animals, people, scenery and such. And that doggone robot just needs to go away! The variety just seems a bit lacking this time. Also, most of the images are without background to color, so I feel it takes away from the interest and enjoyment I usually experience. The colors are still plentiful and gorgeous but the missing "surroundings" really make a difference to me.
This genre has grown and keeps improving. I'm always on the lookout for new coloring games and I wish BF would explore the many others on the market. Introduce new developers with new and more sophisticated/complex art to us. These games are my go-to for winding down from a tough day, enjoying the quiet relaxation. However, I would prefer a variety of pics more suited for adults, fewer of the simple or juvenile images, definitely some level of challenge.
Art By Numbers is a beautiful game. Family/age friendly, good replay value when considering the free-color feature. It could use a couple of special features to jazz it up a little, but I totally love and recommend this game. I like getting away from all the more involved games, a lovely break to rest my tired mind sometimes. Show less

Hoping you can do the next or one or soon with just more in a fairytale settings or with more dragons, aliens, ghosts/paranormal, detective, unsuaul fish, monsters (dracula/vampires, space creatures, sea creatures) maybe done in the 50's or 60's settings, space, astronaut pictures, comic book or superhero, western, cowboy/cowgirl, desert scenes, sharks, underwater scenery, Again don't get me wrong I don't hate any of the others I own them a play them often, might be something to start to introduce or offer one as a test. Played right through the demo. Aside from my index finger almost bleeding from so much clicking to colour tiny areas it was really hard on my eyes. This is the nicest colouring game I've tried. This is a try it game, not for everyone.

This is a beautiful game with great graphics and a nice assortment of pictures to paint. My two complaints are that there are some tiny little spaces to put color and it takes sometimes 5 or more clicks to get the color in. Also tiny spaces are very hard to see even with my good eyesight.

With Art by Numbers 11, I realized a couple of things: the person choosing the images must be a 14-year-old boy and the developer understands nothing about its demographics.
The demographics for this series or any other offering by BFG is 85% female and 76% over the age of 55. (Polygon, October 2021.)
Had the developer understood this, we might have been spared pictures of warriors on the backs of dinosaurs, tacky women draped suggestively over motorcycles, and the unending animal pictures.
The pictures are uninspired. The developer, Awigor, really needs to stop with all the animals. An animal or two is not unreasonable, but a large percentage of the images are animals.
And, oh my stars, the leaves! Out of 72 pictures, A FULL 52 OF THEM had leaves! That is 72.2 percent of the pictures! Please - stop with the leaves.
The colors here are muddy. It doesn't appear that an artist had any hand in choosing the colors. Awigor really must upgrade its colors.
My last complaint is the awful robot Awigor puts in every game in this series. In this game, it is picture #2. In the next game, Art Coloring, it is also #2. It seems ABN considers this some kind of mascot or signature image, but it is so ugly and uninteresting. My boys used to draw robots like that when they were 11 or 12 years old. Certainly not interesting for 55+ women. Perhaps Awigor should color it, print it and enjoy it hanging on its office wall, but stop forcing that hideous image on loyal customers.
On a good note, picture #23 was inspired. It was gorgeous and a joy to complete. Please, more of these!
I will continue to purchase ABN games sight unseen because I love them, but will still encourage the developer to understand its demographics and develop accordingly, and update these muddy colors. Show less

I have 3 Art by Numbers games, with #11 being the most recent that I have purchased. I don't play the "Free Color" method very often, but occasionally if I find a scene that I particularly enjoy, or one that means something to me. I chose one after using the color by number method and played it with my own colors. It looked drab and disappointing. Then, I noticed why. This developer gray-shades most of the cells so when you add color, it looks a very drab gray with a slight tint of whatever color you chose. No matter what I did, I couldn't get it to look bright and colorful, the way I prefer the scenes to look. The way they look if you play the predetermined color by number mode.
I'm not sure at which game number they started doing this, but it makes me not want to buy any more. What the heck?
WHY? Why, would they do this?... intentionally mess up the scenes? You will lose more customers by doing this than you would if you only offered Color by Number mode with predetermined colors. If you don't want people to enjoy coloring their own, take that feature out instead of using it to cause disgruntled, hard, feelings. I'm ticked! BOO to you, AWIGOR!
If the game only offered the paint by numbers feature, I would give it 5 stars, but since they ruined all the scenes by making them drab and gray (in Free Color mode), I feel I'm being generous to give it 2 stars.
Also, I noticed that the pictures seem to be getting smaller. Like, they may only take up 1/2 or less of the total space of the scene page. Giving people less for the money isn't the way to success.
PS- I'm giving this game a 1 for Visual/Sound Quality based on the Free Color mode. Show less
I don't recommend this game.
