I couldn't be happier that this developer has finally arrived at Big Fish Games. Their first attempt, Pride & Prejudice didn't win over a lot of fans but I actually saw the potential in that game and knew that this developer would work out the kinks and hit the door running...and they have! I'm so tired of the "beginner" games we are getting from the same developer week after week and this game is like a breath of fresh air. I love stories about Camelot and King Arthur, and the fact that this isn't the same story told in 5 different game series by the same developer, makes my day. If I'm being truthful, I think this developer is being pressured by BF to be less creative than I know they are. (I've played their adventure games!) I believe BF sets standards on their HOPAs to make them too easy so no one complains about the games being too difficult, it's just an educated guess, but I'm betting it's probably true in some form or another.
Let's give this developer some encouragement, we are losing HOPA developers at a break-neck pace and I appreciate that they have stepped up to the plate. This game isn't difficult, but the tasks could have been a tad less cliche. I loved the fact that we finally get a game that has a different kind of gameplay with a completely new type of storyline!...Thank you telltale :)
Collectibles/Morphing Objects:
There are no Morphing Objects but there are 64 Collectible Scrolls that reconstruct a massive Castle. The Scrolls are a little bit too large for my taste which makes them very easy to spot. This feature could have been easily remedied by making at least one of the scrolls Morph, Some scenes have more than one scroll but there is a pullout tab on the left to help you keep track of the Scrolls available per scene.
Audio/Video Quality:
The graphics are decent but tended to be a tad bit cartoonish in nature in some scenes. I think this is because this developer is known for this type of graphics in their incredible adventure games (which I probably can't name out loud, but you should definitely figure out the titles, there are 3 really, really good series in particular! that are must-try games) The graphics match the Camelot time-period and the developer obviously did their homework because they were meticulous about detail. There are 6 different soundtracks so the audio never seems repetitive, unlike some games where the music is constantly sticking or has an obvious soundtrack loop that doesn't flow well.
Gadgets/Helpers:
There are no Helpers but as a Mage and apprentice to Merlin, you will cast spells, such as a melting spell using a Magic Glove. The Magic Glove is used when you "learn a new spell" but its' not an excessively used gadget considering it's only used 6 times during the very lengthy Main Chapters.
Hidden Object Scenes:
There are 25 Main Hidden Object Scenes +10 in the CE Bonus Chapter with no alternate games available. I actually loved most of these Hidden Object Scenes, even though most of the scenes were repeated. I loved the variety they offered and the way they were able to blend the objects into the scenery so they didn't stick out like a sore thumb. I rarely have issues finding objects in HO scenes but I must admit that I spent several quite a bit of time staring at some of these scenes or trying to figure out what objects interacted with what and where. There are Listed Item Finds, Silhouetted Shape Finds, Find & Replace (with silhouettes & pictured items) Matching Pair Finds, Progressive-Interactive Finds, and Matching Symbol Finds.
Finds, Multiples of the Same Object, and Silhouetted Shape Finds. There is also an Amulet-associated HOP where you are tasked with finding Hidden Symbols using the Amulet.
Mini-Games:
There are 16 Mini-Games +9 in the CE Bonus Chapter. The mini-games were doable on the first attempt in most cases and for the most part, were fun even though most were not really original puzzles. Here are a few examples of the mini-games offered:
1-Swap & rotate puzzle pieces.
2-Swap red & blue tokens positions by sliding to empty slots or jumping.
3-Click stars in the correct sequence order.
4-Select levers to close all steps (1 affects others)
5-Drag the red chain into a matching colored slot (drag blue chain to create an open path)
6-Untangle a fishing net.
7-Arrange tiles so the human figure enters the last star-shaped position on the last move.
8-Lead the blue dragon to the silver chip in exactly 7 moves and the yellow dragon to the gold chip in exactly 9 moves.
Bonus Chapter: (CE version only)
King Arthur and Merlin have been captured by those undead monsters and it's up to you to lure them back through the portal! This is a decent-length chapter that takes place over 8 Scene Locations with an additional 9 Mini-Games and 10 creative Hidden Object Scenes. You will continue collecting the remaining 11 Scrolls to complete Camelot's Castle.
Collector's Edition Extra's:
7 Wallpapers, 20 Movie Cutscene Videos, 6 Music Soundtracks ♪, 0 Replayable Mini-Games♙, 0 Replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 15 Achievements, 64 Collectible Scrolls, 3 extremely long Main Chapters, +Bonus Chapter, and a Built-In Strategy Guide. It has been a long time that I have not finished an entire game in one sitting but this game did just that and I had to break away from it to pass on my views. This sort of game used to be the norm, well done developers. The only critical point I have is that in places the game is a little clunky. I had so much fun! And part of that was sometimes trying to follow the logic of what I might need to complete a task or. rarely, where I might look. I especially appreciated the interactive HO scenes, a different perspective to be sure.
There are visual delivery features that could be smoother but already this developer's game style is becoming evident as the HO scenes are more integrated in the storyline than in the previous Pride and Prejudice: Blood Lines.
Having to stop and think was what HOPA games used to be about. Developers took us down all kinds of roads (and swamps) in order to complete a story, no matter the task, and this game is similar in its structure as was the previous Pride and Prejudice: Blood Ties.
Keep these games coming! Show less

One challenge I have is remembering where everything is when I have an object in my inventory to use. The map is a jump map but the areas you have things to do is vast. I almost felt like I should write down where is what and what is where, but it is more fun to just try to track it down. The graphics are mostly good but at times, yes, they are a bit clunky but I can overlook that as it is not often. Also look at everything and click on it to see if you need to do something. Surprisingly, most places you do. This is what we gamers have been asking for including collectables and morphs. Well done TellTale. Give this a try and be pleasantly surprised. Show less

REVIEW BASED UPON THE ENTIRE GAME
3 Chapters Plus a Bonus Chapter – Strategy Guide: 87 pages (My time: 12 Hours)
STORY: Be prepared for a long adventure! Pack your talismans, amulets, and grimoire and transport back in time to Camelot and the court of King Arthur. As a fledgling court mage, Bliss, you are off on your first assignment. The Green Knight, the keeper of nature, believes King Arthur abducted his wife. As a result, he has turned the king to stone. However, your mentor, Merlin, does not believe this is the case. He believes Arthur’s wayward sister and arch nemesis, Morgana, may be behind the abduction as part of a plot against the king. Can you locate the Green Knight’s bride and save the kingdom from his revenge? Paraphrasing the song from the musical, “There is simply not, a less congenial spot” as Camelot in this game.
OPINON: This is an action-packed game with a good storyline and plenty of activities to keep a player engaged. There is a combination of seventy-five (75) HOP scenes and puzzles in this game. The graphics well-portray medieval England. This game is long in comparison to those from other developers. To me, this game is better than this developer’s previous game, “Pride and Prejudice: Bloodlines.” There is more variety and creativity in the HOP scenes and puzzles. I feel the pace is better as well. However, I do not feel these HOP scenes nor puzzles are as creatively designed as in other HOPA games I have played. They are decent but not spectacular. I also did not discover any glitches or errors while downloading nor playing this game.
There is only one collectible, scrolls, which I found easy to locate within the scenes. There is a sidebar on the left side of the screen indicating how many scrolls are within a scene and how many you have collected. The player receives a gimmicky glove to fight off danger which is charged by finding spells throughout the game. There are no “extras” in this game. The player cannot replay HOP scenes nor mini-games. However, there are a small number of achievements which can be earned.
WHY 5 STARS? Some will wonder why I gave this game 5 stars if I had these small complaints. I am awarding this game 5 stars not because it is an outstanding game, but rather based on the improvement seen from the developer’s previous game offered on this site. I do hope that in future games, this developer will shorten their games and concentrate on providing more creatively designed HOP scenes and puzzles along with a provision to replay some those HOP scenes and puzzles. Hope to see more HOPA games from this developer in the future!

MECHANICS:
• Four (4) levels of play including a customized version.
• 15 achievements.
• Collect 65 scrolls.
• 7 wallpapers along with concept art, music, and video sequences.
• 44 Scenes within the entire game.
• Gimmicky magic glove charged by finding spells throughout the game.
BONUS CHAPTER: “Invasion of the Monsters.” Monsters have invaded the castle and have captured King Arthur and his wizard, Merlin. They have also turned the knights into statues. You must now find a grimoire to stop them and return these monsters to the portal from which they came and seal it. Afterward, discover the culprit and his motives for releasing these monsters. Continue collecting he collectibles. There are nine (9) HOP scenes and sixteen (16) mini-games. This is a long chapter, well-crafted and worth the price of a collector’s edition.
HOP SCENES. There are thirty-six (36) HOP scenes. Unlike other BFG HOP games, the player cannot replay any of the scenes. They are varied in style and somewhat creatively designed. They include standard lists of items, matching, silhouette, replacement of items back into the scene, and a search for items to be used within the scene. This variety of scenes was not present within their previous game. I found them decent and varied but none which were outstanding.

MINI-GAMES: There are thirty-nine (39) mini-games. None can be replayed at the end of the game. The puzzles are variations of those seen in other games. There are some decent puzzles within this game. They are thematic. My only complaint is that I wish I could have replayed some of them. Perhaps in the future, this developer will make this provision within their games.
SPOILERS: HERE ARE A FEW OF THE 39 PUZZLES FROM THE GAME:
A. Checkers puzzle. Exchange the positions of red and blue gems on a grid so that red gems are located where the blue gems are and vice versa. Gems can jump over each other if there is an open space available.
B. Connection puzzle. Move a pretzel through a maze so that all squares are covered without retracing steps.
C. Rope puzzle. Untangle ropes so they do not cross over each other.
D. Paint puzzle. Color segments of an image so no segments of the same color are next to each other.
E. Rotating rings puzzle. Rotate 3 rings to restore an image of a dragon.
F. Math problem. Lead a blue dragon’s head and a gold dragon’s head to silver and gold tokens within a grid. You must plot the course, so both dragon heads land exactly on the tokens at the same time. The blue dragon moves 7 spaces, and the gold dragon moves 9 spaces.
BONUS CHAPTER:
G. Bullseye. Hit a monster once with a bola to kill him. Choose the right point on the monster to hit him.
H. Bullseye puzzle. Use a crystal scepter charged with energy to zap monsters within the castle.
I. Switch puzzle. Switch slats within a round shield to restore an image.
J. Sequence puzzle. Click on animals in a grid in sequence.
