Based on CE. Loved, loved, loved it! The outer space was a new concept to this game. Some may complain same old, but there were updated parts.

I don't have to demo these because I buy them sight unseen every year. Just kind of gets you into the spirit! If you've never played one of these, get ready for a sensory overload. Everyone knows "It isn't Christmas until Christmas Wonderland arrives" and this is a game tradition I look forward to even more than the Christmas HOPAs which always seem to be a hit or miss. Everyone knows "It isn't Christmas until Christmas Wonderland arrives" and this is a game tradition I look forward to even more than the Christmas HOPAs which always seem to be a hit or miss. I don't care how repetitive, or how cheesy this game series is, year after year, they are an instant buy for me and always will be. It's like that feeling you get when you bring out your favorite sweater or a favorite pair of warm boots for the winter. It's the feeling you get as you decorate your tree and turn on some Christmas Music. Now it feels like Christmas...Hang on to your Reindeers and Ho, Ho, Ho...Let the Holidays Begin!

Are people who are scared of Father Christmas Claustrophobic?

Would a singing elf be called a wrapper?

When Santa’s in your room, can you sense his presents?

You can play in Casual, Challenge, or Extreme difficulty mode, which is a Timed Mode requiring you to find all Golden Angels and Lost & Found items to earn all three stars. There are 18 Achievements to earn and 16 Christmas Presents to purchase, and you can see the presents you've purchased by clicking on the Christmas Presents Display Tab on the Top of the screen, opposite of the Shopping Cart Icon where they are purchased,

Each Hidden Object scene has about 12 Listed Items to find, items in Red are hidden in or behind something, and items in Blue require a task such as dragging a Flag to the flagpole, or putting a nose on the snowman. There are usually two Zoom Zone Areas in each scene, the zoom zones (indicated by twinkling stars) may come and go, depending on whether or not the items are available on your list yet.

You will earn a Bronze Star if you complete the HO scene, a Silver Star if you complete the HO scene and find all Golden Angels OR all Lost & Found Items, and a Gold Star for completing the HO scene and finding all Golden Angels and Lost and Found Items. When all of the Golden Angels have been found, the doors will close on the Icon on the bottom left by the Inventory Bar. The Lost and Found Items are shown as Silhouetted Shapes within the Snowglobe and Santa's Sleigh will appear to indicate all items have been found. Remember, you will not earn all 3-stars if you don't find all 3 lost & found items and all golden Angels in each scene.

Some of the Scenes have a Photo Opportunity Icon located somewhere within the scene. Once you find the icon, you can click on it to add the photo to your Photo Album which can be viewed by clicking the Camera icon located next to the trophy icon on the bottom left of the screen.

My favorite part of the HO games by this developer is the puzzles! Yes, they are the same puzzles, yes, they are super easy, but they are still fun and I still feel like a kid on Christmas morning playing them! After each Hidden Object Scene, you'll solve a simplistic mini-game or puzzle such as placing those infamous puzzle pieces into Springfield's map, Rotating Square Puzzle Tiles, Jigsaw Puzzles, Word Search, Matching Pairs, or Spot the Difference.

Collector's Edition Extra's
On the CE version, Bonus Levels have been incorporated into the main game scenes and have Gold Rosette Ribbons to identify them. There are 18 Wallpapers, 20 downloadable Music Soundtracks, and 48 Replayable Mini-Games and Puzzles.

A great Christmas treat for those who like to collect every edition of a series, this one always seems to please. As always the colors are bright and beautiful in the excellent graphics. Games galore, great puzzles, they are mostly easy but that just means more fun for the kids. The whole family will enjoy them. The hidden objects are all over the place, you'll have plenty to keep you busy. The items are small and there is a good challenge, not an uncomfortable one. Much more entertaining than objects that are so big and in-your-face like in many other HO games. The game plays like Park Rangers, same sort of tasks, being Christmas the collectibles are different.

I own Numbers 1-10 and get into them, often actually, as part of the "not enough good new games" dilemma has taken over at BFG. I picked up the SE today. Even though I love the series I rated 4 stars only because I recognized too many scenes from previous installments, a wee bit of something added. For me it's just not enough to really call it a "new" game. I gave 1 extra due to this being an SE which is more budget-friendly, still providing oodles of holiday fun.

The kids will enjoy playing along and parents will have the comfort of knowing that nothing inappropriate is going to spoil the good time. Supervision can be put aside for Christmas! So many games today are ill suited for children! If not yet familiar with this Christmas tradition, you'll find lots of holiday cheer in the demo. It's delightful, give it a try! Show less

Christmas Wonderland 12 - Collector's Edition

The main game was great. Really enjoyed it. However, I'm unable to access the "bonus" games. Three bonus games are listed but nothing happens when clicking on any of them.

I am a huge fan of Christmas Wonderland games but there are a few things about this one I wasn't so happy with. I do love that the story characters were the same and the colors and music are great. What I didn't care for was going to space, that seemed like just an addition to make the game longer, it would have been nice if the children visited the same places they did in the Halloween version ...Show more

I am a huge fan of Christmas Wonderland games but there are a few things about this one I wasn't so happy with. I do love that the story characters were the same and the colors and music are great. What I didn't care for was going to space, that seemed like just an addition to make the game longer, it would have been nice if the children visited the same places they did in the Halloween version but with Christmas themes. Many of the puzzles were frustrating and not relaxing or enjoyable. Some of the scenes were very cluttered with minuscule objects to find. I also found it sometimes hard to find the hidden camera in several scenes, but hope to find them the next time I play. There were too many hidden word grid puzzles, again just something to lengthen the game. I could not find the bonus chapter, nothing happened when I clicked on it after finishing the main game. I honestly believe the makers of Christmas Wonderland 12 could have done a better job in making a better C.E. game than this one. I can't recommend or not recommend this game because there were some good things and some not so good things to me, but these are just my observations. Show less

I have the whole series. No one should expect any big changes just regular Wonderland HOG. However, some of the mini games were more irritating than relaxing and fun to figure out. Absolutely awful childish game, I purchased this after reading th reviews, sounded good, phhhhhhhhh. Fell like asking for a refund as it really is so childish, very disappointed , aimed more for children, played 2 scenes and quit, wasted hard earned money on the drivel :/
