Jewel Match Solitaire has always hit a homerun with diehard solitaire fans. This edition has turned the knob up to '11' (you're welcome, Spinal Tap fans! lol). First, the graphics- WOW!!!! Jewel Match Solitaire has always hit a homerun with diehard solitaire fans. This edition has turned the knob up to '11' (you're welcome, Spinal Tap fans! lol). First, the graphics- WOW!!!! Absolutely gorgeous. This series' graphics have always been outstanding but these scenes (and the action in the scenes) have really raised the bar. The scenes are a feast for the eyes. So much more has been added to this game (as if there already wasn't enough!)- more solitaire variants (my favorite), more game styles, tricky cards, awards etc. The devs really got busy on this one. And the cards themselves have been redesigned in a beautiful classic look that I find easy to read and recognize but I also enjoy the look of the cards very much. This is a must for all solitaire fanatics- lots and lots of game for the buck. And definitely challenging, more and more the farther you get along your journey. Enjoy! Show less

I love the feature where you get a plain suite card enabling you to use any card of the same suite.

In the past reviewers have said that there are not many extras for a CE game and unfortunately the description here does not really show the extras available.

So what we get for the collector edition price?

You have your regular 1 up or down quest levels, 200 of them. As you advance, you unlock beautiful locations and build your castles for the gems you collect from the levels. You also collect stars - for those you can unlock the additional games. Also, you ...Show more

I love the Jewel Match Solitaire series, and this latest edition delivers just alike.

So what we get for the collector edition price?

You have your regular 1 up or down quest levels, 200 of them. As you advance, you unlock beautiful locations and build your castles for the gems you collect from the levels. You also collect stars - for those you can unlock the additional games. Also, you collect coins and for those you can buy your power ups. The additional games you unlock:
Supersize levels - 60 of them
Match 2 levels - 60
Challenge levels - 60
Mahjong levels - 60
Sliding levels -60
The Sliding levels are new additions: you don't get the whole layout at once - you need to scroll the screen by removing the far left cards first to reveal the whole set.
Then, there are 6 classic solitaire games added - all of them replayable.
And there are 12 additional solitaire variants, and the fun doesn't stop there.

After finishing the 200 quest levels, the extra content opens up! Additional 200 quest levels, 60 extra supersize, match 2, challenge, mahjong and sliding levels, and 6 additional solitaire variants.

That's a total of 400 quest levels, 120 supersize levels, 120 mahjong layouts, 120 levels challenge levels, 120 sliding levels, 6 classic solitaire games, and 18 solitaire variants! For a price of 1 Jewel Match Solitaire!
In the classic solitaire package you get Klondike, FreeCell, Spider, Yukon, Baker's dozen, Pyramid.

The variants are: Free Klondike Double, Daisy Garden, FreeCell X, Carlton, 32-Thieves, Fanny, Castle of Indolence, Deuces, Sir Alan, Wish, Westcliff, Thirty-Six.

The extra variants are: Fuego Fatuo, Therese, A Plan, Castles in France, Double Streets, Parallel.

I don't even know just how many different games are packed in this edition.

When you think there is nothing more to invent as it comes to solitaire, Suricate surprises with something completely new, wich they call Sliding levels. See for yourself how that works, i really enjoyed them!
I found the landscapes in wich I built the first castle, mesmerizingly beautiful, I didn't play more castles so far.

As always they added some brand new solitaire variants, always a nice surprise wich game you will unlock next.
My only minor point of criticism concerns the match 2 levels, wich I find boring. They could be more fun when there would be a second foundation pile and you could match the foundation piles too, now you are just browsing and browsing until you find the right match. But luckily this levels are not mandatory.
All in all this is a 5 star + game in my opinion, really beautiful designed! I bought it before the trial ended. Show less

This one has a different look and the map isn't as busy, the bonus levels covered with sheets look a little strange. As usual this an excellent Jewel Match Solitaire. The CE offers so much, it is hard to pass it up. The variety of special levels and solitaire variants should satisfy any solitaire lover.

Earn your first of 24 trophies just by using the custom cursor. Each special level will open after earning a specific number of stars. Lots of extra levels, so many stars. What fun! 4 Game Modes make it enjoyable for anyone regardless of skill. There are Normal, Timed, Relaxed and Hard. My choice is most often Normal but I try my hand at the others just to keep it from becoming boring. It happens easily with me because I play for such long periods. You can change the modes any time you choose while playing.

The card styles aren't very pretty this time and the graphics not as bright and colorful as in past games, but beautiful nonetheless. The scenery for the first castle had a few unexpected things in it like a weather balloon, kite, party balloon, birds flitting about, beautiful floating pastel petals. More petals float up the screen when a level is completed. Very soothing effect. The castle was tucked away in the hilly countryside, surrounded by flowering trees and thick shrubbery, with a brooding cloudy sky. It looked so peaceful, I just wanted to be there, I'm really anxious to see the other castles and their beautiful surroundings. The visuals and building are what keeps me coming back for more Jewel Match games.

I think the shop is a little pricier this time but there's always a good, useful selection of power-ups so I don't mind that much. There are many solitaire variants in this game that are new to me. I always love learning something new and I find them not so easy to catch onto, so I like the challenge and feeling of accomplishment when I succeed. I also enjoy going for the perfect score in the Bonus Levels. All these extras really make this an extremely long game, well worth the CE price.

I wanted to check out the wallpapers but they were locked as are the other goodies, until you reach the required number of stars. The coins add up fairly quickly in the Jewel Match solitaires so I don't have to wait forever to make a purchase and some of them have more than one level to them. That reduces the frustration when I eventually need some help.

I really enjoy the challenge of the obstacle cards, have to keep my strategy skills honed. I don't care for the ones covered with "plastic?", sometimes just too many of those. Also as the game progresses, there are too many of the same cards face up on the board. I find it frustrating and a no-win situation when, for example, you have 4 Kings showing and keep drawing more of the same. It always ends in replays and I just have to quit. Sometimes I replay a dozen hands or so. I try to buy extra cards as soon as possible, which helps.

I'll be buying today's new Jewel Match Solitaire X when a good sale comes up. I think I own them all when really unneccessary but I just love building the castles and find it hard to quit. The games always run smoothly. The abundance of extras make the Collectors Edition worth every penny. Show less

I also like that they are back to land castles, it always cracked me up that they have ramps and bridges in the ocean. Wouldn't the inhabitants just float from place to place?

I love that we are building new and interesting homes in new and interesting sites. The game play is interesting too with new variety and nice visuals. Might wait to buy until they have the regular edition or it goes on sale...but might not!

I play my Jewel Match Solitaire CE games almost every day.
I have them all and love them.
This new installment is a must-have for me.
Things I wish they would update:
More exciting card backs, maybe some hidden objects
scenes or match 3 for the bonus games.

Just what I needed on a gray, rainy day - a fantastic Jewel Match Solitaire game. Beautiful scenes and hours of play time. I love this series and always have at least one of their games on my desktop. There is so much play time that you can't get bored and so many different solitaire games to play. Always a treat to see this developer put out a new Jewel Match Solitaire.
