I like to do both match3 and some finding HOPS. Some puzzles I skipped and others I played (but that is norm for me). Not sure what the fuss was all about. Not everyone likes the same thing. I only played the demo but so far I am interested in playing the game to it's conclusion. It is definitely worth exploring the demo. Show less

The screen kept freezing at first, which was frustrating, but it improved as I went along. I was also surprised by the negative review. It's a fairy tale, but most mini games when played on a higher difficulty aren't nearly as bad as many we've seen these past few months (with every respect & prayer to Ukraine). I'd advise anyone downloading a BF game to go to the directory where the game's installed, and find the application file. Its name is usually made up of a scramble of letters, doesn't have a file extension, and will be described in the right column as a "game application." Right click on that file's icon, select the compatibility tab & run the compatibility troubleshooter. These games are nearly all programed on Vista and earlier Windows platforms. Set it to run on Vista and that should eliminate any weird screen behavior. Look this stuff up on Windows help if I'm not making sense.
Otherwise, I'm enjoying this game, I like the colors, the graphics are good, and other than the wispy little voice that everyone seems to use for female characters (unless they're blurting out in hysterics), I have no problems with it. Does it reach the level of past games, well, not really, but one can always print out the NYT crosswords and fill it in with ink if one is desperate for a challenge. Show less

I'm not sure why Domini is so resistant to change what the reviewers have been suggesting for years.
I am at a loss as to why they would change their dev name to Do, instead. Most of us that review a lot have longevity here at BFG and honestly mean well with the criticism in our reviews. It is in hopes the developers will make a few changes that will help them sell more games and get higher ratings. We are the ones actually buying them and playing them. Imo, the reviewers have truly been trying to guide you to make changes that would help you. I will try to point out the weaknesses this game needs to fix as I used to be a vocal fan of positivity for this dev. I have always been one of their biggest cheerleaders.

- The repetitive tasks that make the game longer. Instead I would go back to the roots and create more HOS to slow up the gameplay the way the older HOPAs do. Play some of the older games I have listed to see why they work.
- Don't hand feed the gamer the codes to everything with a sticky note. Let us use our brains.
- Ease up on the # of mini-games.
- Make the game shorter. 3.5 - 4 hours (with a 1hr bonus play that has all new scenes.) Some may disagree with me but there is no reason to purchase the CE in this case for someone that doesn’t care for this bonus content.
- The CE content should be changed. Most of the reviewers (over time for your games, don't like collecting 70 or so items to buy things to deco a bedroom. I personally purchase *every* CE that has a screensaver. The best I’ve seen for CE content is with MCF Shadow Lake which showed a short video of the devs making the game behind the scenes. I really loved seeing the artists that make these games I love come to life.

- Remove the characters covering the wallpapers. Put all the characters on *one* wallpaper to cater to the gamers that like those, but most don't. Just show your beautiful scenery & artwork.

- Completely lose the repetitive storylines (most involve monsters.) Ditch those and try something completely new. Look to the past games that have a high rating. Think of cool stories such as the Reincarnation series, Veronica Weaver Catch me if you Can, The Agency of Anomalies series, F.A.C.E., Paranormal Pursuit: The Gifted One, Brink of Conciseness Dorian Gray, True Fear Forsaken Souls, Beyond Light Advent, Time Mysteries: Inheritance & Maze Subject 360.

- Change up the time of day in the scenes and color scheme in the graphics to break up the monotony. I won't even play a game that has an abundance of purple anymore.
- Every game put out now has that shadow bullseye when you click the mouse. Please remove that. I've actually read reviews that said they stopped buying your games because of that.
- Instead of using the profile name as the main character, please let us hear & see the main character. I play so many of these games that I will name the profile with the date so I know when I demo'd the game. So this game would be "6x30x22thu". It really creates a disconnect with the characters if you can't see or hear them. This is my biggest dislike by this dev (along with deco a bedroom.)

- I adore those reactive items in all your games. They are more fun for me than the collectibles.
- I adore your creative artwork and beautiful scenes. You have great VO’s and I love spending time in the scenes you create.

I am so sorry to pick this game apart. I honestly mean well and hope you follow the advice and guidance that has been left by your loyal purchasers & fans. I hope we will all benefit in the future. Show less

Another game I paid for and can't complete. Are they going to censor this comment also? I made it into the guard tower and somehow came out of it and now I can't get back into it. It will not let me click on the doors to reenter. And with their updates coming out, there is no way to get credit for this game.

I don't recommend this game.

The graphics are way below par for this Dev. I opted to play the match 3 instead of the HO and in the middle of playing the match 3 the instructions for the HO popped up on the screen.

I've always been on the fence about the Spirit Chronicles games and this one is no different. The story is the biggest draw for me but I simply didn't get drawn in by this one.

Graphics seemed a bit hazy and the voiceovers seemed muffled at times. Everything else was just status quo, nothing new or innovative.

I lost interest after twenty minutes. Would not even consider buying the SE version I'm afraid.

As always, try before you buy -- a repetitive suggestion but one to remember :o) Show less

I did not like this game, the demo seemed to go on forever because the pace was so slow and boring. I feel that Domini has forgotten how to create quality games or they just don't care anymore. Domini has become the low man on my totem pole! Every game used to be so awesome, not anymore.

The demo was full of tasks that for some reason didn't even make sense and the items I needed were hidden in the stupidest places! For instance, why in the world would I use a vine locked in a box when I'm surrounded by them in a forest thicket? And why is a wingnut, not yet invented, in this story? I know it's just a game, but gee whiz, can't the devs give us some logic to work with sometimes??

Animals in a beautiful flower kingdom are victims of a disease that changes them into vicious (?) creatures. Someone is deliberately contaminating the food system with a toxin that mutates them. I saw a beautiful bird thrashing about and a mean looking wolf, an ugly gargoyle statue all of which were infected, but nothing really that I saw as vicious. The handy Bestiary returned the creatures to normal. There is a mini-game that comes with, as usual. I don't like this gimmick but the games were pretty easy, so it didn't waste much time.

The characters were very nicely rendered, good facial features, excellent lip-syncing and the voices weren't bad at all. I didn't detect very much emotion considering the dilemma at hand but the voices fit the characters. I thought the graphics were pretty, not spectacular as in other Domini games. Not as sharp and I expected them to be more interesting because of the storyline. The locations had lots of dark areas, the scenes weren't as colorful as I expected them to be. The collectibles were very small and hidden in the shadows which added some challenge. But the helpful indicator kept track of them which is a great feature.

The HOPs weren't impressive, I didn't care for the storybook one because items were faded and didn't seem to match their description very well. There were just a few HOPs in the demo and I didn't enjoy them all that much. I liked the puzzles better, Easy and Hard Modes. Easy was much too easy so I found a better challenge, more fun with Hard Mode. I've been favoring the puzzles over the HOPs in recent games, highly unusual for me. HO scenes are not as creative and interactive anymore which is a shame because, after all, it is a HOPA game!

The collectibles included enchanted trees, magical creature statuettes, colored orbs, all very little but not impossible to eventually spot, and plenty of notes. Some of my finds were purely accidental. The orbs were needed to decorate a bedroom. The wallpapers all had a character and print which I think ruins them. I would prefer just story-related scenery to beautify my PC screen. Custom Mode allows Hint and Skip to be reduced to zero seconds which I love, the music was nice, the demo played with no glitches.

As I always gripe about in my reviews, the demo is so laden with find this, repair that, banish insects, assemble items with ridiculous makeshift tools, dig something up. Every Domini game contains the same old stuff and the gameplay is always sparse due to all the "chores". Focusing more on the story and less on all these annoying things makes more sense to me. How can a person know if the game is a good purchase if they can't experience the adventure? Just a small peek into it isn't enough for me to make a sound decision. It will always be a pass unless Domini gets back to delivering more than a puzzles and tasks game. And gives us a NEW story that is interesting and entertaining. It takes more than a new title and new characters! Show less

With the usual assortment of tasks for a demo, the usual color palette, the usual character assortment, and the usual sudden local crisis that the player is expected to "fix," there is nothing here you haven't seen in just about every HOP game we've seen in the last couple of years. Even the lack of some semblance to logic or reasonable thought is par for the course.
All the usual elements of a CE game are present, along with an assortment of bling. The one thing I could surely have done without was the very loud VOs. You can adjust the ambient effects and music levels, but the voices refused to be muted even when the other two levels were reduced to about 5% of the norm. I finally had to mute the computer to save my hearing.
I sincerely suggest you try the demo for yourself. Show less
