Very good game. The main game was 3 chapters which made it a long game, but that was a good thing.
You do search for many items to help navigate through the game. It didn't bother me.
Story line was different but interesting.
Animation was little old school but similar to the earlier New York Mysteries.
Try the free part of the game to see if you like it and go from there.

Well it's rare to come across a storyline that's so unique, but this developer did it! Fantasy worlds you access through paintings with a special varnish, bizarre monsters and the crystals they'll follow, a person preferring to be a monster than a human. Wow, so much to take in and really a wonderfully different concept.

The atmosphere of the game is good, with scenes in the city and scenes in the country for variety. Some areas have a lighter ambience and some darker - no matter what you like, you'll find it in there. Plus the fantasy landscape.

The characters are definitely old-school design, very plasticky, and the lip movements are bad, but the quality of the game overall outweighs those things.

There is a morphing object and a collectible (different kinds) in each scene. Sometimes they're easy to spot and sometimes quite difficult.

It's a good long game with lots of both HOP scenes and puzzles. They can be hard, but they're all doable.

The bonus game is not a game but 20 levels of the same puzzle in increasing difficulty. Not what I prefer - I prefer another storyline or prequel - but the puzzle is actually fun, and the challenge level increasing makes it a lot more fun. I still would trade it for more actual game.

Not only was this game a challenge, the storyline was very interesting. The puzzles ranged from easy to difficult but you could hit skip if you didn't want to go through a particular one. Kept my interest all the way through!

I like to challenge myself by getting through a game without using the hint button, but there was no way that was going to happen in this game. It got me thinking and playing for days on end. Sure, with an element of the magical to it, there are some things that aren't logical but it did not detract from the fun.

I recommend this game!

This is a great, fun, exciting game! Shades of HP Lovecraft, there are paintings whose subjects are on the loose! Join Laura and play some really fun puzzles and HO scenes as you discover who, what, where, how, and why these paintings are so very scary and special! I love the characters, as well!

The slime at the beginning was only a tease, thank goodness. It was a little slow starting but wow what a great story and the story kept you moving along at a great pace! Best adventure/HOG I’ve played in a long time.

There was only a few scenes where the art was almost washed out and that was a dream sequence, thus the lower visual quality point deducted.

I especially like the no nonsense heroine who accomplished an incredible amount – all while dressed in lovely outfits and 6” heels!
The story (ies) was/were laid out in a different way with three different chapters and each from a different person’s point of view. There were some humorous scenes, especially toward the end that involved a vet called in to help Laura. I’ll bet he was a Marine!
The puzzles were fun and varied, and the morphs and collectibles were rarely easy to find. But they do let you go back and pick up what you missed; It does take a bit to figure out how to do this. (Try backing out to the home screen then clicking on "extras", then click around until it takes you back to a game scene.) Unfortunately the reward for this is about 25 games of the same type, connecting numbered squares to each other, getting harder with each level; hardly worth it unless you're a hard core puzzle fanatic, so you needn’t find all you missed if you don’t want. It was still a great game.

I've been waiting a long time for a new New York Mysteries game to come out, and I loved this one! Graphics are great and an intriguing storyline. The only thing I'm a tad disappointed about is no extra game play...aside from the puzzles/hidden objects stuff.

I recommend this game!

Finally!! A different sort of HOP/Puzzle game that has a mixture of medium hard to very hard puzzles and HOPs. I like games that challenge me and this one does. The HOPs are not straightforward and most have mini puzzles in them.

I am so grateful for a game that the devs have taken their time to make it a challenge & it is beautifully done. The detail is amazing. No cookie cutter garbage like we have been getting recently from another dev. Cudos to New York Mysteries!!! All games in the series are great, keep them coming!
