I love this game more than I should.

The original of this game gets repetitive, as you pretty much have to start things the same way over and over. In the New Land, what you start with and your goals change from level to level, keeping things fresher. Sometimes you get access to a fish hatchery, sometimes you use something else for food.

I love this game more than I should.

The original of this game gets repetitive, as you pretty much have to start things the same way over and over. In the New Land, what you start with and your goals change from level to level, keeping things fresher. Sometimes you get access to a fish hatchery, sometimes you use something else for food.

The pesky warriors who come steal your things can now be smacked around, just like animals, but you don't get food. You get, usually, a unit of gold, but if you're lucky you'll get a special crystal worth 10 units of anything in trade. Or you can collect them to get a trophy.

There's a lot more to do than in the original, and there's also a set of 'free play' levels that come with or without disasters.

All in all this is a great game for folks who like the building/time management games, you can play it again and again. Show less

I'm all about a challenge, especially when needing to redo a level until all 3 stars are achieved. But, Aztec Tribe: New Land lacks the one element most other strategy/time management games usually have, some other way to beat each level outside of no timer mode. Like the never ending or endless mode. I love playing without limits but without seeming ungrateful, I'd like to know when I've reached ...Show more

Like the never ending or endless mode. I love playing without limits but without seeming ungrateful, I'd like to know when I've reached that limit. Like being told 'congratulations! you've done all you can for the level 1-10 endless mode, time to start 11-20". Or something like that.
Also, the introduction of damaged buildings and other villager's thieving seems way over done. I'm not that far in and I'm ready to delete it! Maybe adding an element where upgrading mines etc stops this or adding a building that has a handyman to maintain it would be good. Some way to control all the destruction an pillaging would make me re-download or buy its sister game when released. Show less

Once again I tried an Aztec Tribe game. The initial levels held a lot of hope that the problems with the original game had been fixed. The herky-jerky animation problem seemed to have been largely fixed but the writers still have way too many disasters in the game to make it any fun. Once again I tried an Aztec Tribe game. The initial levels held a lot of hope that the problems with the original game had been fixed. The game authors obviously never played the game and really do not understand what constitutes fun. I have two jobs, I want to be entertained. This did not fit that bill at all. Pure strategy, no time limits.

After playing this game 65% through I can see way it didn't get a favorite flame rating. It's monotonous and graphics are pasty and it a trying game to play.

When I got to the level where lightening was destroying the structures now and then, the management and upkeep got too tedious. I blew it off. And I hate games that only have a 1 track music playing.

I don't recommend this game.

I loved the first Aztec Tribe, although by the end of the game I was getting sick of constant repairs. I hoped the second game would improve on this point, but it's got so bad that I can't keep ANYTHING going for more than a few minutes, and those repairs rapidly break down too. When you have 5 mines needing repair, you don't have any hope of completing this game in the required time. Total waste ...Show more

I really tried to like this game...and the further I went through the levels the more I had an intense dislike of just about everything.

I think what really bugged me to begin with was the sloppy tutorial...there were a few times I didn't know how to complete the levels because of the lack of the tutorial. The levels were definitely hard to understand what was needed.

There was no fun factor with this game...I would say its more like an agitation factor.

I was not impressed with the graphics and music either...in all honesty...it could have been better.

Anyways...I just had to put my 2 cents worth in...sorry folks but I'd pass this one up if I was you !!! Show less
