I love this game.My only problem with it is the skill level changer.There isn't one.I like to get a gold star on every level.There is no chance with this game.The game is too fast paced.There is no time for mistakes.If you have carpal tunnel,or anything that prevents you from playing a really fast game,then this game is not for you.I do wish that they would fix this error though because besides ...Show more

Off the bat, I'll admit the visuals are much to be desired. However, they are quite amusing to look at, especially the customer models of each location. There was clearly a lot of fun put behind making each Cafe unique to the country and culture it was set in, and the result was somewhat comical and colourful with bizarre character models of culturally recognisable caricatures

The gameplay was the same as the previous two games in the Cake shop series, and quite fun in it's unusual way. There was a massive improvement over the shopping and upgrade mechanics than in the last game, offering a far, far greater variety of choice in which upgrades you purchased to add to your Cafe's. Despite accumulating a ton of wealth again by the time I completed it, money still had a lot of value in the form of what you could choose to buy - this goes for Cafe floor upgrades, or renovations and improvements to the exterior itself. I regularly found myself running out of money to buy things which gave me incentive to keep playing and try harder, even all the way up to the endgame

I would have kept playing and fully upgraded each location, however completing the very last level seemed to break the game. I don't know if this was a glitch, or the intended ending, but once I finished it, I could not leave the very last level. I couldn't upgrade my Cafe anymore with renovations, play in any of the previous locations or upgrade those either. Trying to renovate the sister Cafe's left me with a blank upgrade list, and trying to select a level took me right back to the ending one. I don't know if this was intentional or broken, but it was very disappointing

Despite this, I'm happy to play the game again to see if this happens on my next completion, and to just experience the gameplay once again. With the wider variety of freedom to improve your Cafe with new machines and services, the game is a lot of fun and can offer a fresh experience by choosing which upgrades to buy. Although similar to burger shop in it's conveyor belt and machine style of play, I didn't enjoy cake shop 3 even half as much as the Burger Shop games.

It should have been great, it has the same kind of gameplay, plus you upgrade buildings, but something feels lacking from it, for me anyway. The characters are beautifully done for this type of game, and the buildings and scenery are nicely done as well. I gave it 3 for for visual quality, as the cakes (the point of the game) were poorly done, just badly textured shapes. I found it too easy also. It would probably be good for a day where you just want to relax and play something simple, but there are probably better relaxing games out there. I did want to like this, and am not quite sure what quality is missing from it, but something is definitely lacking.
Also, if you try the demo, it's not just limited time, but limited level too, it only lets you play so far regardless of how much of your hour you have left.
It's not a bad game, it's just ok. The best thing about it was the detail in the customer characters. Show less

Although this one had the same good graphics and had more options for upgrades that weren't forced :), there were a few things I found that did not make it as enjoyable.

Layout out machines didn't really make sense and couldn't tell when the day was ending from the "clock". At least on my machine, which has played the first 2 versions with no problem,the controls weren't as responsible as the previous games. Had to click sometimes 2 or 3 times to pick up or release an item.

Having to seat customers was another tedious item. Again, probably due to the lack of sensitivity with the controls.

Overall, I found it to be just okay.

Hope another one more like te first two is on the horizon. Show less

The game gets harder and harder as you move on and as you earn money you can construct and add equiptment in your cake shop as you please.

I don't recommend this game.

I played the game through...and like many before me, I'd like to continue to play. But what is the point? If you redo a level and expert it the second time, there's no record of it. And on the last level I didn't get the final upgrade and when I replay levels I don't get anymore money. I don't know if these are bugs or just the game makers being irritating. Wish there would be a fix...

I don't recommend this game.

As other reviewers have said this is in the style of the 'burger' games, but again I am not too sure. I think it has something to do with the camera angles that kind of puts me of a tad, as I find them a bit disconcerting. You are not 'faced on' but more of a 'birds eye view' and for me for some reason this does not seem to work.
