This game actually plays in widescreen-yeah! From the beginning, this is an ominous outing. Liked that the sound effects were close to, but not quite, realistic sounding. and the animation (the ghostly figure added to the atmosphere) and graphics were absolutely terrific. I was ready to buy this game within the first 5 minutes!
There are voice overs, and they're very well done. Some voice overs don't match the visuals, but these were amazing. I believed them.
The graphics are crisp and very clear. I was able to find everything in the HOs without any problem.

Graphics were very clear and sharp, music did not overpower the game. Played the demo in 50 min. HOS were clear and items almost too easy to find. Scattered throughout the story are also mini games that were not hard to solve. Hint button recharged quickly. There is no map and you go back & forth alot. Sparkles show where you need to look. I enjoyed this trial very much. Playing casual and leisurely, I completed the trial in 50 minutes.
The look of the game is very rich. The graphics are crisp and well done, especially textures.
There is a lot of running back and forth - there's no map.

Just in time for Fall weather... I'm liking it. I enjoy the vintage charm incorporated into this one.... I'm already engrossed in it early on and off to buy based on what I've played of the demo. Spookiest enviornmentals thus far than others of the similar genre in recent memory, I'm a happy fishy right about now.

Definite thumbs up ~ check it out! :)

Gave a rather disappointing review on the CE demo. Purchased game anyway and turned out to be a very good game indeed! Yes, was dark and foreboding. Yes, story line well written and developed with interesting twists and turns.

Gamers just can never really determine by the demo if the game is extraordinary or blah. Sign of the Spirit turned out to be an excellent choice.

The story is spooky as I like them! I played in Advanced mode, and there are no sparkles - good!
- The sound is great and adds up to the atmosphere.
- The graphics are crisp. The objects in the HOS are easy to find.
- The puzzles are quite easy, but some of them are really challenging!
- There is a journal, containing some of the clues for the puzzles.

- There is no map! Why??? I can tell you: there is a looot of walking, and you really have to return to each location, since many HOS are active a number of times. This is actually how you will spend most of the game time... And you get lost easily...
- The hint system is of the type "there is nothing to do here...". That doesn't help a lot, so keep walking...
The end is quite abrupt; I don't know if it's different in the Collector's edition.
But even with the long "trekking", I really liked this game. It took me about 5 hours, using hints and walkthrough as little as possible. Show less

Available at BFG since 2012. Review based on completed game. LOVED IT! Barren trees, howling winds, swirling leaves, cold puddles, ponds and lakes, dark skies, stone buildings, stone paths, a large moon giving everything a silvery glow and paths lit with lanterns giving off a golden, cozy glow.

GRAPHICS – "Widescreen" has a slightly stretched look, which is particularly exaggerated in the first scene (many of the subsequent scenes are much less stretched looking). The "Fullscreen" option is really more of a windowed. In windowed though, the graphics are pin-sharp. Also the graphics are what some call "old-school," but I don't mind them, since the story and the scenery are stellar.

MECHANICS: To place an item effectively: click on it from your inventory, when you have it in the correct position a wheel at the lower end of the cursor will spin. (No wheel spin means incorrect item).

HOPS: 30 Wordlists

PUZZLES: All skippable. LOTS of medium difficulty puzzles, with a few difficult ones thrown in.
SOUNDS – 2, Music & Sound. Wonderful background sounds, especially of the weather, and luckily the music is on a separate control.

MAP: NO MAP. You will go back and forth between scenes a lot, and you will need to remember where to go, the hint won't help you or lead you anywhere, unless you are already at the correct scene. All scenes are accessible from start to finish. I did, need the walkthrough a couple of times.
JOURNAL: YES
DIFFICULTY SETTINGS – 3 –YES and interchangeable, if you need the "skip" to speed up on a puzzle.

HINT: Will often circle the specific area you need to look at, but won't give you the item from your inventory. Won't lead you from scene to scene. 40 seconds to recharge on Casual, about 90 seconds on Advanced, and no hint on Hard.
INVENTORY – NOT Lockable
CHARACTERS: Minimal interaction. No lip sync. Show less
