Loads beautifully, nice graphics, crisp and clear.
Love the match three and building a city to go with it.
I almost did not even bother trying it because of the low reviews it was getting. Glad I did!
If you are having problems with the game get your updates done because I had no problems and it is fun!.

I recommend this game!

I really liked this game. I had a hard time leaving it between levels. Mostly I liked that I could keep playing whilst the tokens were moving. I play to relax and so I would've liked to have no time limit, however, I only had to replay one level, THREE times! =) Otherwise it was kinda a NOT relaxing game.

I agree with my fellow reviewer, dachsy, this game is very similar to the Cradle Of Rome series, mostly because of the almost identical patterns of the boards. I agree with my fellow reviewer, dachsy, this game is very similar to the Cradle Of Rome series, mostly because of the almost identical patterns of the boards. However the Cradle series is one of my all time favorites I have played all of the games in that series hundreds of times (that makes me seem lazy when I put it in writing!) and they are a very entertaining and challenging match 3 games, I just didn't have that same "GOT TO PLAY JUST ONE MORE LEVEL" feeling with this game. There are the usual blocks and goals and other than the rocket booms nothing else seems new in my opinion. The idea of this game is to make matches of three or more to collect resources to build a Roman city and allow the citizens to thrive and prosper (and appease the Gods!) You can earn trophies and if you complete the mini games in time you receive a discount on construction. This isn't a bad match 3 game, but it's a game that you'll either love or hate unfortunately, enjoy! Show less

I perservered with this one - once I got the hang of the gameplay I found it quite addictive and the hour trial disappeared quickly.
It isn't the best M3 out there but by the end of the hour I felt like I had really enjoyed it.
Give it a good trial for more than 10 minutes and both the graphics and the explosive options available grow on you. It's harder than it appears at the start, but the ...Show more

Give it a good trial for more than 10 minutes and both the graphics and the explosive options available grow on you. It's harder than it appears at the start, but the rockets and tools are logical and with the great deals going on at Big Fish it's worth buying on a special deal day.
Good relaxing fun - yes it has a timer but you don't need to stick with it, you can continue and just don't get the stars. Plus with each building purchase you get an extra game such as a simple jigsaw, spot the difference or match the pairs. Not the most challenging - but good relaxing fun. Show less

Similar in many ways to the fine 'Cradle of Rome' Match 3 game, where you are tasked with earning materials and building a town. There are other facets within the game that are different however, and make for a very interesting Match 3, but I will leave these for players to discover themselves.

There is a timer, but this did not seem out of place for the game and I think most players would not be put off by it.
Matches CAN be made while other items are falling on the game board. Although the symbols are of adequate size, for ease of play, they could have been just slightly larger in my opinion.

In between the match 3 boards, there are mini puzzles, whereby if you complete it within an allotted time, you would receive discount on a building. These were not difficult and are a nice break from the match 3.

Graphics are excellent, but not exceptional, and sound effects I have to say are impressive! There are different sizes of rockets and bombs, all of which have their own sound, many being reminiscent of exploding fireworks.

All in all, I think most Match 3 fans would enjoy this game. #Pity about one or two spelling and grammar errors I noticed however!# Show less

If you enjoy match-3 games as I do, you will enjoy this one also. Not a lot of new challenges but still fun to play and not frustrating...yet. :o)

It's not a fancy story line. It's pretty simple to play. I don't know about others, but sometimes I like simple.

After finishing the base game, I've kept playing, trying to see if I can get all the achievements. (I don't think that is actually possible in regular game play, I could be wrong though).

It's not hard to tell what is what to me. I have had some eye problems lately, so my usual favorite genre of HoGs are mostly too dark and hurt my eyes. This was a pleasant diversion.

I would get it again. Show less

You must read all of the instructions in the tutorial before you start the game to learn what each powerup does and how the gods help you with the boards. I thought the story line and mini-games were geared more for kids. The building of the city and the actual match 3's were okay. Game seemed almost "disjointed" Don't think this would even be good for beginners as there's too much stuff going on at once and may be a bit confusing. I played 20 minutes of demo and gave up. It doesn´work well. Too slow and although I chose relaxing game it counts time... Didn´t like. I don´t recommend.
