Set on a cruise ship, you embark on a cruise as a would-be director. Good story line, excellent graphics with nice bright airy colours, fine ambient music which varies from scene to scene, and excellent mini puzzles, all help to make this an enjoyable game.

There are two modes of play: Casual and Challenge. The challenge mode does not have sparkles, and hint button takes longer to recharge.

Game is Full Screen. There are no voice overs, just written dialogue. However, that did not detract from the enjoyment of the game.
The HOS are cleverly done, with some interaction. Some objects were well hidden indeed, and you have to be an 'eagle eye' to find them all. You earn cash as you play, and there is extra cash to be got if you 1]find all the 'Lost & Found' items, 2] find all the 'Recycle' items, 3] be an 'Eagle Eye' by finding all items without hints.

You can spend your money earned on 'Souvenirs' at the cruise liner's Shop, and these are displayed in your special cabinet. There are also achievements to be earned.

Between each HOS, there is a mini puzzle. In the demo hour, I come across four different puzzles. These were fairly standard 'swap the tiles to complete picture', 'rotate pieces to complete picture', 'find differences between two pictures' etc. About the 4th puzzle in, there was a clever variation on a jigsaw, where you had to place shapes to complete the deck layout, and thereby find where your particular cabin was.
There are bonus points awarded for completion of mini puzzles, and I noticed there was a timer on these, so maybe you got 'eagle eye' points if you achieved it within time.

There is an interactive map for scene replay and rewards. And this is a game that you will probably WANT to replay scenes in, as curiosity to what you may have missed first time around, encourages you to try and do better.
Game looks to be a decent length, and is varied enough to strongly recommend. Show less

There is just something I LOVE about these games, so I will continue to buy them, more please :-)

In this game you can buy souvenir's as well, and than there are the fun mini games, in between, which bring me back to my childhood days, so I totally enjoy them even though they are not hard, they are FUN!!
So I just purchased, but time for dinner, will be looking forward, to getting back to this little gem, these just make my heart WARM and FUZZY, so thank you developers, for another fantastic voyage/escape/vacation, wouldn't miss it!! Show less

This game is from Casual Arts, who makes Vacation Adventures: Park Ranger series and Christmas Wonderland series. One of my favorite developers.
This game is very similar to the Park Ranger series, with a few upgrades. It still has Lost & Found and Recycling non-essential things to find, this is one of my favorite things about these games. The recycling bin has a lid that goes on when you have found all the recycling, so you don't have to guess. Points you collect on hidden object levels can be used to purchase "souvenirs" which you can view on your own little souvenir shelves.
As far as hidden object scenes, objects are sometimes hidden cleverly or partially obscured, but I can always see enough of it to determine what object it is.
There's relaxed and challenge modes that you have to choose at the beginning of the adventure - I don't see a way to switch after character selection.
I gave a 4 on visual/sound just because the beauty wasn't overwhelming, but the scenes and objects are very crisp and the music is unobtrusive, and the reward sound is pleasant. Generally there's not much of a storyline in these games, just a general direction your'e going, obviously in this case you are on a cruise throughout the Americas.
(I hope they make another Park Ranger game, I really like that theme!!) Show less

I love all of the Vacation Adventure games. Love the music, love the crisp, beautiful, superb scenes in each level. I love picking up the trash and then looking for the extras and then on to the regular HO items all in each scene.

My only gripe is that I wish this one was as long as the previous ones. I want more scenes, more trash to find, I love you guys....

I loved visiting Rio, San Fran, Mexico in this game...I felt like you get a bit of history and geography in the areas you visit. I am sure some of these shots were actual pics turned into CG (I LOVED THAT)
Id love it if you guys took us to places like Japan or Ireland ect other continents, bring it on. I love these games, I will buy them without playing the demos!

Always a 5 stars from me on Vacation Adventures!! Show less

A great game. Very entertaining. But most of all it give a great variety of challenges that help to exercise this poor old souls brain. So very sorry it has come to the end. Highly recommended. More please ASAP.

really enjoyed playing, no brainer/total distraction but some items were tricky to find. Puzzle at the end was satisfying to complete.

This was a very challenging hidden object game. There were tons of HOS and the items were very well hidden. The minigames were fairly standard fare, but some of the puzzles took a lot of work. In particular, some of the jigsaws were mind numbing.

This game follows a couple as they take a cruise around North and South America There are lots of locations both on and off the ship, where the ship makes stops along the way.

Each location has three star levels to achieve. Finding all the HO earns a bronze, finding all the trash items or the lost items in addition gets a silver star and finding all 3 types of items earns a gold star. There are also 15 achievements to be won. I missed out on 2; playing a minigame in less than 1 minute and playing the complete game in under 3 hours. I'm thinking that it would take a speed demon to reach these two goals.

Points earned during the game can be used to purchase souvenirs from the gift shop. I earned enough points to buy all the souvenirs and still had over 10,000 points left at the end.

The storyline really isn't too relevant to the game, just a way to get from one location to another. I played without sound, as usual. There are 2 levels of difficulty.

This is a totally HOG; no bells or whistles to speak of, so it is for HOG lovers only. I enjoyed it thoroughly and am looking forward to a sequel. Show less

I hope there will be more games like this for Mac. It's really fun to play. This made changing games of witchcraft or demon.
