Best Battle Match 3 Game I've Ever Played!

Wow, I'm practically speechless! You are a Sorceress on an eternal quest for glory, many have tried, few succeed. This quest rewards hero's with immortality, IF they can reach the Frozen Mountain. As you travel the path towards the Frozen Mountain, you will come across many different enemies and a battle ensues. You must then make a Match 3 or more of either lightning or fireballs to attack the enemy, to win you must deplete his health orb before he depletes yours as you take turns attacking each other. There are shields you can collect that fill up the shield meter and protect you from attack once the meter is filled, it must be refilled after each use. There are health potions to collect that will heal you with each match of the potion, blue and green orbs fill the mana bar and once full will unleash a powerful spell such as freezing your opponent allowing you to take several turns in a row. The diamonds are very important as well, these collected diamonds will allow you to purchase more powerful lightning, fireball and health potions . After each battle you can click on the diamond tab at the top of the map to add more power to any or all three of these powers according to how many diamonds you have collected. Some of the paths are blocked by a locked gate which means you must first travel to the locked chest icon to play a Match 3 game (no battle just you making matches) you must collect a certain amount of keys before the timer runs out, you will also have a chance to collect diamonds here as well. After completing this quest, you collect your key and use that key on the locked gate to continue your journey. If you aren't a fan of battle type games, you won't like this game because you will battle a sorcerer or monster with each and every level with the exception of the treasure chest level, enjoy! I'm not usually a big fan of match 3 games but I thoroughly enjoyed this one! If you are familiar with the game Puzzle Quest - Challenge of the Warlords, it is very much along the same lines as this. I strongly suggest that you read PennMom's review & helpful hints which will be of great help to you as Quest of the Sorceress' "in-game instructions" are very vague which can lead to some confusion . ...Show more

If you like the match 3 games where you battle against the computer opponent, you will love this game. Great graphics, sound, excitement. Everything you could want in a game. I thoroughly enjoyed it and bought it before the free play hour was even up. I wish there were more match 3 done this way!

It may be slightly repetitive but that is kind of what match three is. You are able to increase your skills by spending diamonds, collect treasure from chests by collecting keys, and battle monsters along the way.
I enjoyed it quite a lot.

The only downside is that you must move one dot along the map at a time so if you want to back track to a path you didn't finish you can't simply jump to your last finished dot along the path.

Otherwise its quite enjoyable and I would defininitly recommend it to anyone that enjoys match three games with a fantasy take. Show less

Fighting the monsters along the way to the Frozen Mountains was good for a while. Why? Because I think the graphics and sound are excellent, but it becomes so repetitive, same only monsters, same sort of battle - Ah yawn!!!
No doubt some reviewers will like it, some may rave about it but for me this is a big Nooooo!!!

I don't recommend this game.

This isn't the typical M3 I like to play for FUN, rather you are matched against several different evil opponents and make matches to destroy them.

For those who enjoy playing warfare against an opponent, this might have been a good game if it came with instructions or explanations of the purpose of each of the icons on the game board, but there is very little instruction. Some you pick up as you go along by the results of the match. There were times I beat the opponent and had no idea how or why. The opponents get two or three turns to your one. They also have the ability to clear 2/3 of the board on their turn. Instructions may have saved this game.

After several opponent rounds you encounter a game of M3 to collect keys to open a chest, but more importantly, to collect diamonds to increase your firepower-ups for your battles.

That's the whole of it. If this is your kind of game, enjoy! I play for fun and relaxation - not warfare. Show less

....but it doesn't even come close. No directions, no real story, and no challenge. The only place I can give some praise are the graphics and some of the sound effects. The thing that surprised me the most was how quick the game was. It took maybe 90 min to reach the ice mountain and become immortal.
The game has good bones, it just needs to be fleshed out.....and made much longer.

I enjoyed playing the game, but feel like I wasted a credit. I played over half of the game in the 60 minute trial. I was fun to play but very short and I am disappointed about that. I would have been better if it was a lot longer.

I don't recommend this game.
