The goal of this game is to match pirate themed tiles to earn points, the quicker you remove tiles, the more points you'll earn. Silver tiles will restore the shuffle bonus with each match, and all Gold tiles must be matched to win the level. Each level has at least three goals to achieve such as: Removing tiles within a specific amount of moves, Completing the level within a designated amount of time, Scoring a specific amount of points and Removing a specific number of Gold tiles. There is an available Light Bulb icon which will shade all tiles that are blocked and unavailable, and the shuffle bonus is automatically used when there are no available moves left, enjoy! Show less

No storyline that I could tell. Just great pirate graphics, including the "faces" of the Mahjong pieces. You could choose the regular tiles OR something more ..... pirate-like - lol. The music was also very piratey. Sound effects were also well-done.
No mini games or anything in between levels to break up the game play but that really wasn't necessary in THIS game. In order to "pass" a level and get 3 gold stars you have to accomplish 3 tasks per level/game. Those include collect "x" number of "special" tiles, getting a specific score (or better than THAT score) and ..... something else - lol.
The game boards were done in very nice pictures .... a ship, etc. I really liked that. Although I DISLIKE, extremely, having to compete with myself to get 3 stars and meet each level requirement, I did thoroughly enjoy the game play.
As much as I LOVE anything to do with pirates .... and this game was ALL about pirate themes, I don't think it will be a purchase for me. All that "getting 1, 2 or 3" gold stars, meeting level expectations, etc. just kind of ... irks me - lol. Although, I guess it does make the game more interesting?
I DO recommend it for everyone, although beginners to this type of game may find the tutorial confusing because it really doesn't explain much ..... nor even very well.
Will you exceed the Pirate expectations and get all gold stars or will you be walking the plank? Find out in this adventurous demo.
ENJOY! Show less
I recommend this game!

Typical of other mahjong offerings from 8 Floor. i.e just Ok, with no new or innovative features. I did play the full hour demo, but I really wasn't enjoying it.

Challenging enough, in that each board is played for a maximum of 3 Stars, there being 3 goals to reach on each board. I was surprised to realise that I only achieved 1 star on most of the boards of the first two rounds as 'Cabin Boy'.
I felt the graphics were rather dull and muted in colour, although reasonably sharp. There was a choice of different tile designs, but none of them were really memorable...they just seemed 'lifeless' in my opinion.
Ambient music is on a loop and consists of light orchestral-type music. Again, nothing special, but pleasant enough.
It seems 8 Floor keeps churning out similar-type games, just changing tile designs, music etc for each one, but not improving production values in the process. In short, just more of the same. Show less
I don't recommend this game.

Story - there isn't one - just a pirate themed mahjong match tiles game
Gameplay - oh dear... get your quick fingers working... it is purely time based but in a sneaky way. No clock or timer but..... earning gold stars meabns you have to match really quickly to get the points required to get a gold star (Maximum three available - one for completing level, one for number of moves and the last for points earned).
It got too annoying very quickly to warrant spending hard-earned cash on this game. Did four levels and only earned three stars on the tutorial one!!!!! After level two, I guessed the faster you match the better score you get so got two stars on level three. Gave up after level four. Show less
I don't recommend this game.
