I loved this game. The graphics were great, the story line was wonderful and very interesting. Usually I don'f follow story lines too closely, but this one I actually wanted to know what was going on. The characters and creatures were amazing. Very impressed!

The game has everything I love in a game. Really good graphics. Jump map, which I used a lot. Unique mini-games that were actually challenging. Interesting cut scenes. Nice, long game. Interesting change up on the kind of H.O.s. Some very interesting and fun things to do along the way through the game. I'm glad I bought it and played it all the way through! Will play it again!

there is a custom level and journal and interactive map. you and your sister were close through the years and the family always went to the circus together each year. then you parents died and things changed. you and your sister meet up to go to the circus and your sister is picked to help the magician to do a trick and she disappears and you have no idea where she is. you go looking for her and see that the magician has taken her and claims she has signed a contract to be in the circus. you know better and go looking for her. every time you get close she is snatched away again. you come across some weird mutant animals and you realize that is what the magician has in mind for your sister. you get help from some of the mutants along the way. you have to save your sister before she is permanently turned into a mutant. sequel...i believe so. Story, Graphic and Adventure part was very pleasant.
Since I don't like HOS at all and feel there are always too many - at least they where not as overcrowded than all those other games lately .I didn't loose the feeling of playing a story without being stopped at every corner.

I recommend this game!

It has been an annual family tradition for you and Judith, to visit the Strauss Circus. Even though your parents have passed, this family tradition will live on, under the big tent! Judith can hardly contain her excitement when Strauss picks her out of the audience (did anyone notice that all the seats were empty?) to assist him with his last act...the disappearing act! This magical finale is a top notch trick, but isn't Strauss supposed to finish this act with the famous reappearing trick?

The first thing you get equipped with is a camera, whenever the camera icon appears, you can take a picture. When the photo appears, you will click on 3-4 listed items within the photo, to hear a small story about Strauss, and how his unusual animal experimentations changed the circus forever. You can access the pictures you have taken anytime in your scrapbook, which also serves as a journal for notes. You will come across an arcade game that allows you to win different amounts of coins. This game can be played three times every 30 seconds by accessing the pull down tab at the top of the screen. The coins can be used to help injured animals you come across in Strauss' zoo, but I don't think it's pertinent to the game itself.

The Hidden Object Scenes are interactive list finds, and I really liked the fact that all HOS were circus themed, but some scenes are repeated. The Mini Games are available in Casual or Hard, and they were all entertaining. One of my favorite mini games required you to turn a carousel right or left, as you swapped the dresses on several mannequins until their dress matched their different colored hats. Another clever game was matching carnivorous plants to their matching icons, but, the plants would disappear and the pots would do a major shuffle game and you had to remember which plant you were looking for each time.

The Collectors Edition has Achievements, Music, Screensavers, Wallpapers, Concept Art, Movies, replayable Mini Games and Hidden Object Scenes, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter. In my opinion, this edition is the better value, I'm not impressed with the CE extras, or lack there of, but the game itself is decent, enjoy! Show less

- Difficulty can be customized. Sparkles, bar hints and hint / skip recharge.

- Graphics: Hand-drawn style. The sceneries are very imaginative and well-done.

- Animation: very good. Except of facial features.

- Music: is playing rarely, I liked it during the HO’s.

- Voice-overs: good voices, fitting characters but it is not synchronized. Facial features are static.

- Tools: you have an interactive map – for playing w/o helping texts it is very useful. With your trusted camera, you can discover a lot more as it seems at a first glance.

- HO’s: description, slightly interactive. One type only. Plus collecting pieces.. Well done, but mostly not challenging. You can switch to a kind of match3.

- Mini games: The first one was pretty easy. Further on they could be played casual or hard. Playing in “hard modus” they were clearly not that easy.

- Challenge: Playing w/o bar hints was quite difficulty, because it was sometimes not really self-explaining (eg. box with toreador and bull or ice elephant). Additional you have to be very precisely. And it was not always logical. Thus, I needed the interactive map often, more often than I prefer.

Dislikes:
Length only just... I needed about 3 ½ hours for completing.
Slightly unrealistic: Interesting, how long a fire in a house can burn, w/o spreading. Show less

HOS were interesting and interactive and there were a lot of puzzles which could be tedious. Thanks to a custom setting mode which allowed for short refresh on skip and hint I was able to skip most of the puzzles...not a puzzle person anyway.

Gameplay was smooth, but you definitely needed to use the transporter map to move around and well as the hint sometimes. I found that game somewhat challenging and enjoyed the story which I thought was unique. Too bad this game was such a disappointment at the end...sort of like the developers just got tired of it and stopped. Glad I just used a credit on it or I would have been really upset. Why do developers do that? I wonder if the CE brought it to a proper ending. Show less

Cons:
You had to go back and forth to different locations, which I normally like, but it was so much that I ended up using the map for the last half.
There were a lot of times when I didn't use the tool near enough to the goal and it reject my attempt. A lot of times.
But still, very enjoyable.

I recommend this game!

The Twilight Phenomena series has been very good so far in my view, and this entry is no exception. In this installment, you and your long-lost sister decide to attend the circus again, which has been a family tradition, and disaster strikes when she becomes part of the show in more ways than one. You resolve to find her and uncover some disturbing and topical genetic engineering going on until you confront the evildoers.

There is a lot to like in this game. It moves quickly, has a good and diverse amount of hidden object scenes, and difficult minigames that take just the right amount of time. Everything looks pretty good, with animation cutscenes, and the music I quite liked. The only downsides for me was a bit too much backtracking particularly at the end and a couple of logical inconsistencies that didn't detract much from my enjoyment of the story.

And the story is where this game shines. In addition to the standard rescue mission, there's quite a bit being said about science and the responsible way to use it. I really enjoyed this game and highly recommend it. Show less
