I didn't find it confusing at all - if you have played the other "Iron" games in the series, yes it is more of the same - but who says that is a bad thing? Most of the "Iron" games don't tell you what gate the offense is coming out of, so I usually wait until I can see where they will be approaching from, hit pause then place my defenders. I love Tower Defense Games, especially ones such as Iron Heart where the rules of engagement are uncomplicated for the most part. I love Tower Defense Games, especially ones such as Iron Heart where the rules of engagement are uncomplicated for the most part. There are a couple of features that disappointed me, the first is that you have no idea which direction the enemy will begin the attack from, which is actually more realistic, but I like being able to place my weapons at the beginning, using the icon as my clue. The icon to begin the wave is still available, but it's always at the bottom of the screen, not where the enemy will enter. (you will earn more gold if you click on the icon to start the next wave early) The other feature is more of a confusion standpoint, at times, it's difficult to know the pattern the enemy takes because of the layout of the paths, which have depth. The rules of engagement are fairly simple, place weapons such as Machine Guns, Cannons and Energy Emitters upon the available Towers, and keep the enemy from reaching the Steam Locomotive and enslaving humanity. Each weapon can be upgraded for a broader range, and more damage, once you have earned enough funds from destroying the enemy. After each battle which consists of 5 or 6 waves, you can visit the shop to purchase upgrades that will make each individual weapon more powerful, or have a broader range, or cost less to buy. You can also select common bonuses that allow you to reap more money from the enemy, or even give you a larger starting fund which will allow you to purchase more weapons in the beginning, or more health. Each level gives you a new type of defense weapon, and of course a faster, stronger enemy to go along with it. At the beginning of each new level, you are given a brief description of the new weapon available as well as the capabilities of the new enemy, so you need to have a variety of weapons to cover all enemy types. If you are looking for a fast paced, action packed game requiring strategy, you will like this addicting Tower Defense game, enjoy! Show less

So this is another game from the tower game masters and another game which plays similarly to the previous ones. Through multiple waves of enemies at each level the opponents get stronger and more plentiful and make more use of the shorter paths to your castle, a locomotive here. It is fun and it is challenging and I can’t play it before bed or I cannot sleep. Personally, I was happy to get this ...Show more

8 Floor has come out with another in their TD series. If you've played their games before, you'll recognize the usual types of towers and attackers: the big slow robots, the tanks that release three small fast bots when they are destroyed, the flyers that can only be taken down with gun towers.

8 Floor has come out with another in their TD series. If you've played their games before, you'll recognize the usual types of towers and attackers: the big slow robots, the tanks that release three small fast bots when they are destroyed, the flyers that can only be taken down with gun towers.

I played the Mac version, which had no level select. Sometimes 8 Floor games are way too difficult, but this one was pretty easy. I won 3 stars on all levels in about four hours of gameplay.

Still, it was 4 decent hours of entertainment, so thumbs' up! And I'm always happy to see a new Strategy game. Show less

Actually it`s a fun game but the fact that there are mostly only 2 -3 attack waves (only few with 4-6 waves) in each level is way to less to enjoy the upgrades of your towers. Once you've finally upgraded it's over. This makes it a quick game because you are fast through the 40 levels!
Why so few attack waves? This could be a super-duper game but again disappointing. I`m glad I didn`t buy this ...Show more

I could not place a gun. I could not even X out of the game. I had to force quit. I have not idea what is wrong with this game but it is unplayable for me.

I don't recommend this game.
