Aaahh, but magic is in the air, and you soon find out that Simon is no ordinary cat, he is one of Santa's helpers, he can talk, and he can walk just like you and I, and he needs help saving Christmas! A thief has stolen the Magic Christmas star in Catstown, without the star, the magic of Christmas won't happen!

Christmas Stories has delivered a purrfect game this year. Puss-In-Boots will tug at your heartstrings and engulf you in a fantastical storyline, like a good book, you won't be able to stop until the very end. My only complaint, is with the graphics, although they are decent, they are nowhere near the quality of the Nutcracker eye candy. Simon will join you on your investigation to nab the star thief, and proves himself invaluable when it comes to retrieving items only a walking, talking cat could accomplish. Some inventory items have Snowflakes above them, indicating some type of interaction is required before the item can be used, some of which involve solving a puzzle of some sort. The Collector's Edition has the addition of 12 Morphing Objects that morph between a cat and a mouse, and there are 36 Hidden Puzzle pieces that will create 3 different Screensavers once completed.

The Hidden Object Scenes cover just about every different type, Interactive List finds, Multiples of each item finds, Silhouetted Shape finds, finding items that match keywords in a story, and even scenes that require you to pick up items from the inventory bar and place them into the scene where they belong.

The Mini Games are a delight, however, they are all really easy to complete, but keep in mind that Christmas Stories games are intended for family fun, a game that can be enjoyed by young and old. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you will encounter:

1) Find pairs of matching constellations in three sections.
2) Put torn photo fragments together.
3) Select ring sections and use directional arrows to complete an ornament.
4) Spot the Difference between a photo and the scene.
5) Throw snowballs when the indicator is in the green zone.
6) Use weights to move clock hands to the correct time.
7) Move a feather duster around to clear dust.
8) Color the image to match it's twin.
9) Guide a ball through a maze using directional arrows in an allotted amount of moves.
10) Press cash register buttons in the correct order by trial and error.
11) Use a Looking Glass to find tools hidden in each scene.

The Collector's Edition has 24 Achievements, 12 Morphing Objects, 3 Screensavers, 36 hidden Jigsaw Puzzle Pieces, a Secret Room, 17 Concept Art pictures, 15 Wallpapers, 5 Music Soundtracks, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter, enjoy! Show less

I'm almost at the end of this SE game; and folks, as adorable and cute as the characters are--mostly cats--I can't stress how wonderful this game is! I've played hundreds of dark and gloomy, very clever games, I might add, whereby I've rated many of them a 5-star, then comes along this game--well, it has renewed my faith that there are some developers who really do listen and care about what we reviewers think. They have delivered the best game I have played in 2015. And as we're coming to the end of this year, I can't think of a better game to play than this one. I think I will buy the CE and keep this in my collection for always. It's a wonderful change of pace!

After I play my games, I uninstall them. If you were to ask me about their storylines, I wouldn't be able to tell you. As for Christmas Stories: Puss in Boots, I will, indeed, remember it and will keep it on my computer for always, if possible. LOL! The storyline is exceptional and refreshing for a change!

It's also refreshing to play a game such as this one. I'm glad I bought it. If this doesn't uplift your spirit, then, with all due respect, you're one cold fish!

It may seem sappy or too easy, but the gist of the story is about love, and, in my opinion, it's about fear. I usually play the harder mode and did so with this game. Yes, there are many easy mini-games but let me tell you, there are some tasks that aren't that easy and it will take ingenuity on your part to figure it out, again, depending on the level you're playing. I love the HOS and how the mini-games are spaced out among them.

The artwork is stunning; the music is quite beautiful really, and the game-play is flowing; again, just the way I like my games to be. Silly or not, this game is surely the best in the series. And it's the best game, as far as I'm concerned, that I've played thus far! It has it all--voiceovers, artwork, music, game-play, storyline, the works! I love the kids' voiceovers; love the characters; the tasks, everything about it! There is a lot of back n' forth but you do have a good map and hint button if you need it.

One of the mini-games, cute as it is, requires you to move the themed parcel to the conveyor belt. I think I may have worn out the belt but I didn't give up. Perseverance is the key! So many other fun things you must retrieve for the characters, too. You'll have a side-kick, helper named Simon the cat, who will take on Puss in Boots, as a mini-game. Great fun! Also, you'll find out the reason why Puss in Boots did what he did!

There is one tune in the game that I'd love to be able to download, it's so pretty!

A visually stunning, well thought-out game! This is definitely a family game and one that I'm sure you will enjoy! I wholeheartedly recommend it! Show less

Not sure what it is about these holiday games, but something about the visuals and the puzzles make it a warm and fuzzy journey. I wish there were more of these per Xmas season.

I have never played any of the Christmas Stories, until I played this one. I'm hooked.

It's got a little bit of everything for everyone. The storyline, the art, the music, everything about this game is top notch.

I played it and I'll play it again next year, at Christmas time. Thank you, Big Fish!

- Difficulty can be customized: I prefer playing w/o helping texts, so I love it. You can chose tutorial, map issues, glitter, changing icon, plus item indicator, hint and skip recharge time.

- Graphics: They were excellent and gorgeous.

- Animation: Simply the best. Magnificent.

- Voices: good spoken, matching the characters

- Tools: you do have an interactive map and a helping hand or better said paw.

- Story: lovely. A real Christmas story.

- Locations: The locations open step by step, they are available for the whole time.
Needed items are spread over several locations.

- HO’s: there were different types of HO included. Really good done, sometimes interactive.

- Mini games: Nicely done, but pretty easy.

- Challenge: The tasks were logical, so you can play w/o helping messages -
just needing an eager eye. But all in all, it is not difficult.

- Length: Is decent. I needed about 4 hours for playing through.

There are a lot of nice gimmicks along the game, e.g. snowmen. The cats were extremely cute.

I strongly recommend this game, even Christmas is over, thanks to Santa Claus, Father Frost and all cats, it will return this year. Show less

custom level and map and a good hint system that takes you where you need to be. find out why puss in boots stole the christmas star. without it santa can't deliver the toys to all the children. puss in boots is stealing things from people and no one knows why. i don't want to ruin the story so that is all i will say. sequel........probably another adventure

Christmas Stories: Puss in Boots is a feast for the eye. The graphics are sharp, bright and colorful, all the locations are decorated with unique holiday accessories and the cut scenes are just spectacular! The music is simply enchanting - Puss in Boots is certainly one of the most festive hopa's ever created.
The game is relatively easy and straightforward with some back tracking but nowhere near as much as in other Elephant games. It's far superior to the Nutcracker which I hated! It's more child like and much better for children to play then either Nutcracker or Tin Soldier. While I loved Hans Christian Andersen's Tin Soldier I don't think it's suitable for young children, this game definitely is.
Christmas Stories: Puss in Boots is the purrfect game for children 2 to 102. It will take you on a magical journey through an uplifting storyline and unbeatable visuals - so why not relax and give it a go, it's guaranteed to put you in the Christmas spirit! . Show less

Another awesome Christmas Story by Elephant games!!!

Every year I look forward to these games, and this one doesn't disappoint. Not only do you get to meet Santa, but Father Frost and the Snow Queen, as well. Help some cute kittens along the way and do the ultimate good deed for Christmas.
